Hi all i want to fit Cruise Control but on my omega i dont have the plug that the stork plugs into so is there away round this

oyeah my omega is a selcet modle and has no wiring at all.Have brought the stork with the cable

you need to find out if your model is drive by wire or cable, on lower spec models to keep the cost down the drive by wire was taken out and traditionally cable throttle control put in..

Its worth dropping into vx and getting them to quote for your car just to see what you will need to put cruise in...

Worst case you need everything with a price tag of around £500.

I seem to remember one of our overseas members didn't have the loom fitted. If memeory serves correctly this was on an early 8v unit.

If there a multiplug on the top of the strut inside the engine bay? That's where VX tie them up if the unit is not fitted. Check if it is there. If not then I'd think your loom does not have the wiring. That would put it in the too difficult camp

All 2.0/2.5/3.0 petrols are cable, 2.5TD, 2.2 (petrol and diesel), 2.6 and 3.2 are drive by wire.

No idea, only ever seen 1 8v before, and didn't look for loom. Doubt Vx would use a specific loom for that particular engine (other than the actual engine loom).

Does it have the large 10 pin connector bolted to the drivers side suspension turret?

best guess then is that the 8v was fitted with a loom not set up for cruise control then. sorry but I think it will be a big job to fit to your car

Well, I have built a Vectra/Omega CC into my Cavalier. The Cavalier is without the the loom, as a CC has never been part of the org. equipment. So I made it myself

**Should** be possible to fit still, be a PITA though.

Check the wiring diagram (Haynes) and make up the missing looms.

The 97 V6 GLS estate I have doesnt have the cruise loom, nor the connections behind the fusebox for front fogs, rear leccy windows or cd changer connector in footwell.

The wiring to the B post should normally have 13 wires (works motors for elites etc and blowers) this car only has 9 wires.

I remember my M reg Select estate (16v) was the same, no puddle wiring on that one either. the V6 has tho.

A city in Denmark has the name "Middelfart" ~ Middle fart

"fart" doesn't have the same meaning in danish as in english.
"fart" means speed, pace, move.

So fartpilot is still the same as cruise control
