I have just done a 914 mile round trip from cornwall to folkestone and back with a little driving around while there and used just 18 gallons of fuel :o,sadly it was'nt in the mig,I was feeling skint so took my old 406 hdi instead,it averaged 52mpg which is pretty good at a steady 80 or so on the motorways .God knows how much the mig would have used as I have never seen better than 28mpg on the display,oh and the 406 has done 183000 miles :o :y :y

rear inner wheel arches tend to corrode badly as well around where the rear flexy hose bracket is attached, not easy to see with the splash guard covering it

Thanks Welung666 but clearly it has been recoded (I have original) so don't think serial number will help.

I'll take a sniff round Gatehouse at the weekend and see if Edworthy's are there. Worse case scenario I can probably get a replacement from the scrappy for £20.

Cheers all,

J

the unit may have been replaced at some time so wellungs suggestion is a good one, each serial number has its own code.worst case scenario is that he will give you the code you already have so nothing lost :y

Defender or Disco, or Range Rover classic absolutely. a P38 (after 1995) no way - just about the most unreliable vehicle ever. Just try and find one with fully-functioning suspension and heater controls.

Actually, I well remember an article in "Land Rover Owner", entitled "ten reasons NOT to buy a P38". They're truly shocking to deserve that accolade from a LandRover mag.

agreed,p38 is woeful for having so many issues and the 2.5td is gutless and thirsty in auto form and not much better as a (rare) manual

I sold a 4x4 (grand cherokee) to buy the mig estate for towing and wouldn't go back,I find the mig much more stable.Obviously if you need to tow off road then its a different ballgame

General Car Chat / Re: N Reg Fiesta Heating...Need Some Help Please
« on: 05 December 2010, 10:58:24 »
Regarding the lack of heat in the cabin, on a fiesta the heater control valve is electric and situated in the engine bay where the heater pipes enter the bulkhead, they are a very common fail and easily replaced :y

Been offered a "Sport" model (2.2) manual with the MV6 bits & bobs for silly £`s. (threw the belt). Is it worth grabbing it to break. :-/ Couple of pics

Perhaps now would be a good time to lock the thread, now that Pete has put his response.

As it sounds like this could get into a slanging match from those not directly involved if not careful  ::)  ::) , which could be more messy than the orignal post & response !!!!!!  :o  :o

I agree, if Pete and ice man want to talk it's available via pm

I would let it defrost naturally then start it up and see if any harm has been done
