If the wiper arms don't move i would suggest the wiper linkage has sized, quite common on these and in turn it may have popped the wiper fuse.

Take the linkage/ motor assy out of the car, disconnect the motor and see if the arms will move. If they don't then try soaking in WD40
( oh sorry said a swear word there, i meant plus gas or the like ::)

On some of these linkage setups its only a circlip that holds the spindle into the housing so you might be able to take it apart and give it a good clean and read grease

TomTom one only has fixed cameras logged it is system so you shouldn't have a problem

What the french coppers don't like is the mobile camera detectors like the old Road Angle.

These send out a signal looking for s mobile speed trap and thats what the coppers are picking up.

Our Group Parts manager went to Le Mans a few years back and had a Road Angle switched on. Got tugged and the coppers, asked him to hand over the Angle

He did as he was told and then theysmashed it on the road and then demanded 500.00 euros, cash as a fine but didn't give him a ticket ::)

wonder where that went but would you make a complaint?

Irmscher have now moved from Lichfield to down south.

They are all new staff there now so that might be why you had problems, if steve or John were still there it might have been different

You could try

Hi Liz

It was worth a try and like you said something that seems so simple can turn into a monster just like that.

I've the same problem in my own workshop. I 've been logging all the new and used parts that not just for my self but other friend have stored, we have a bit of a group buying thing going on.

I have to list parts for B series Manta's, A  Series Senators, Monza's, Opel GT's, Cavaliers, Mk2 & 3, Nova's and of course Omega's

I'm two years in and still haven't scratched the surface

Christ i do this for a living and a hobby...........i need to get a life ::) :y

This could turn into a labour of love for someone. Agree with Jimbob, nice idea but the way GM change part numbers is a nightmare.

Even looking at some of the numbers already on the list i can tell you some are superseeded.

You then have all the engine number chages, chassis number changes, no break point changes (GM don't know when they changed a part).

All i'll say is a great idea but anyone using the list double check the numbers are correct for your car, If your local is having a problem PM your vehicle details and i'll do my best to help out.

Once again great job and please don't think i'm stepping on anyones toes 'cause i'm not.

Thinking about it it might be a better idea to lay it out on spread sheets for each section of the car like EPC does. Eg

Bodywork Exterior
Bodywork Interior
Front Axel & Suspension
Rear Axel & Suspension
Engine
Trans
etc etc

Just an idea

Make sure its the correct one for your car as there are two different ones listed for the early engines.

Ninty odd quid as about right for thr later one as i one one from another customer a week or so ago.

The early ones are now getting hard to get hold of and are alot more money

General Car Chat / Re: What car was your last project?
« on: 30 January 2010, 22:40:25 »
See if you can spot the theme in this lot.

Finished this last year

And this is how it started off

and how it came back from being dipped and E coated

i also manage this one

This is my daily drive ( the missis has the Omega???) Nova has now only done 48000 miles

I've now got the front end of this out rwady to be blasted and new front panels fitted, yes its on German plates, been brought over for the work

This is my next project. 1970 Opel GT if you were wondering

The car in the fore ground i get each winter. Last year i fitted OE A/C to the car, this year its axels over haul.
Also this picture shows the only three Mantas in the UK with factory Air Con.

Also i have my owen Manta to build which is getting a manual V6, the Omega and a Mk3 Cavalier thats tucked away in another lock up.
So just a few jobs to do
