Driving licence
« on: 22 August 2013, 00:44:57 »

I`ve finally got my photo d/licence sorted  :y
I set up the government  on-line Gateway portal watsit & paid the £20 on-line fee & got the pre-prepared form back from DVLA within 7 days.
I got my MD to counter sign my mug-shot, filled in the rest of the form & posted it with the supporting I/D docs.
Nothing happened for nearly 2 weeks & then on a Saturday morning I recieved an automated email telling me I had 14 days remaining to return my application or my renewal will be cancelled. >:( At this point I was assuming the worse & my I/D was now probably being sold in West Africa or Eastern Europe. I thought I`d fone somebody on the following Monday, but then realised I hadn`t copied the application form or noted down basically anything.  ???  Anyway come Monday morning, I hear my Jack terrior trying once again to get a fresh postie finger thru the letter box & bingo they`ve posted back my I/D docs & my license will follow within 14 days. So the portal is flawed in someway, cos it didn`t work for me. I finally got the license about a week later.

Brother in law just renewed his photo card and they removed his bike entitlement by mistake. Worth checking if you renew yours, it is the second time I have heard of categories going missing on a renewal.

It happened to me on the last paper licence I renewed,it took forever to put right.
My only evidence was a copy of the original. which was held by my employer
