Dad was stuck in the Isle of Man last weekend, so he has not driven it since the update. Not done the discs yet either!  ::)

Will report back as soon as he has driven it  :y

Having experienced it I can say it really is a worthwhile upgrade. Gearchanges are definitely smoother.

Has to be noted, this is not on mine as my estate is too old (96 N reg) and the MV6 is a proper one with the fully functioning "driver involvement pack". ;)

This was done two weeks back now, by jaime, on my wife's 1999 CDX Auto estate.

Ok, the difference is immediately noticable and a BIG improvement on what was already a very smooth gearbox.

Under gentle acceleration, the gearchange is so subtle that you virtually don't notice it at all. Under power is where the big difference comes in. The software update is very good because the gearchange under load eases the car back off power while changing, THEN brings the power back in gradually. When I say gradually, all over in a second, but you don't loose the acceleration, you just gain smoothness.

This was a bit like the best of Volvos in the 1990's where they seemed to have this down to a fine art.

Absolutely improved and very worth getting done.

But if you ever fancy a trip up North, we may arrange a Jockular meeting around you (if you can handle another 11 page thread to decide nothing) ;D ;D .

But you'll probably need 6 foot long pegs to keep it at ground level, around here. :P
Anyway, I wouldn't bother just now, it's Haggis breeding season, and have you heard how frisky them little fellows can be? ;) ;D

Well in that case i cant guarantee it not being stripped of parts in the morning and some of it on ebay  ;)

Remember my strange affliction with the little things last year!  ;D
