We can hope. I like to be optimistic

Question. Easter Presents. Is this a new thing? Chocolate eggs, yes. But presents, like at Christmas? I suspect commercial opportunism here, or am I being a tad cynical.

Over the last few years we have gone completely the other way. Easter means absolutely nothing to anyone who doesn't believe in fairies, so we totally ignore it. No eggs, no nothing.

It is big here in Spain. Deeply religious country.

Even for non religious folk, the Easter processions are a sight to behold. The heavy religious icons are taken out of the churches and carried by a brotherhood around a long route. The costumes and rituals are impressive. Much eating , drinking and getting together also happens. Not much commercialisation though Lidl does have a tiny range of Easter eggs.

I shall look forward to Easter eggs with 80% off in the next few days.

I'm not paying full whack for cardboard.

Easter was like a second Christmas when I was growing up. Gatherings of the clans usually at the Grandparents, loads of food and drink, with a big sit down roast turkey dinner on Easter Sunday.  :y

Today I went to the supermarket and was perplexed to find it closed.... Ah yes it's Easter Sunday!  ::)  ;D

Happy Easter!  :)

In 1976 you would be able to fill a dozen petrol tanks for £114.......and if you were deluded enough buy a brand new Marina coupe for about £1000.

New house for about £7000.
