You should have carried on a bit further along the A120 and spent a couple of hours remembering your mispent youth in Colchester.  :D
Its as big a shithole as Stortford these days btw.  ::)

Got home about half an hour ago, was greeted by a massive thunderstorm. Couldn't see ten feet in front of me, just what I needed after 6 hours behind the wheel.
But they are home safe and sound, that's all that matters.
Bishops Stortford is a shithole, btw  ;D
Oh yes.  ;D

Thank you. Still at the airport (just a large waiting room with no shops for food and drink). But no news of a flight cancellation, so that's good  :y

Just a thought for the future. (After talking to a taxi driver mate) Some good flight tracking apps available Depararture/arrival time tracking, may save a long wait (and parking fees)  and take a packed lunch with a flask save a small fortune on airport prices..

Yes, I use such an app, and they are usually very accurate. I can track the flight from take off to landing.
I didn't go near the airport, the parking fees were extortionate. Hence the reason I parked up at Bishop's Stortford railway station, one stop down the line...£6.

Like Google for example :D

And airport websites...

Also don't be a tightwad moron when going to an airport. Use a car park. It will always be cheaper than paying the fines for red line infringements. Some are actually free to park at for a couple of hours, Gatwick Long stay for example...2-5 minute bus to the terminal and no hassle. If you need longer due to delays, start at the nearest large supermarket.
