General Car Chat / D type Jaguar .
« on: 13 April 2021, 16:41:02 »
Drove home from Surrey this morning was passed on the M25 by a stunning looking D type Jaguar in British racing green, whether it was an original or a kit car I really couldn't tell had number 21 on the tailfin , lovely to see vehicles like this being used, even SWMBO commented on it.

Have driven to Sanderstead near Croydon  this morning as SWMBO has some paperwork to deal with at the solicitors re the sale of a house tomorrow morning, we have never seen such clear roads mostly HGVs due to the pandemic restrictions obviously , a really pleasurable drive be a lot different going back Tuesday morning I bet.

General Car Chat / Excellent wheel refurb.
« on: 25 March 2021, 16:18:35 »
Had 4 new tyres on the Range Rover a fortnight ago & had the best of the old tyres put on to a 5th alloy that came with the car , the guy said it was a bit scruffy compared to the others which I had to agree with said he could sort it for £20, he dropped the wheel round to me about 10 minutes ago it looks absolutely as new , what a bargain ..😀

General Discussion Area / Tooth extraction
« on: 23 March 2021, 13:19:42 »
I should have had a tooth out in December but our dentist cancelled all appointments & we never heard anything else from him, anyhow registered with a new one , first visit this morning and what a nice bloke talkative & humorous did exactly what I hoped he would and pulled the bastard thing  out , usually found dentists a bit snooty but this guy genuinely down to earth.

I hear that the morons have been on the march in London again even though "protests" are not allowed under present restrictions, when if ever will they toughen up on these idiots.

General Discussion Area / Billy Monger.
« on: 19 March 2021, 07:39:35 »
Did anyone watch the programme recently about Billy Monger the young racing driver who lost both his legs ? I recorded it and watched it last night a brave & remarkable young man with a very supportive family, take my hat off to him & I'm certain we will hear a lot about him in the future.i haven't watched the one about him that was on last night to do with Red nose Day yet but will do having had a lot to do with amputees in the past this lad is a true inspiration.

General Car Chat / Renault clit just purchased.
« on: 18 March 2021, 16:02:41 »
Our eldest grandson is 17 next month & obviously wants to start driving asap he has been looking at cheapish cars but came across a very nice looking clit ( I don't particularly like French vehicles) he asked if I would take a look at it , anyhow belonged to an old couple from new 63 plate  full history with 52,000 miles I took it for a spin & couldn't fault it. They were offered £1500 on a trade in against a new one so they put it on our local site for £2000, I offered £1750 and we agreed on £1800 so he's over the moon it's totally immaculate and is gleaming black full MOT & no advisories in January amazed at how nice it drives..🚗

General Discussion Area / M25 what a mess.
« on: 30 January 2021, 17:02:41 »
Drove home from South London this morning after having two properties valued yesterday, horrendous weather but even worse was the surface of the M25 the potholes are dreadful in places hate to think about anyone on 2 wheels having to cope with that, we left at 06.20 very little traffic around mainly HGVs, glad to get home to Lincolnshire , so glad we moved out of the smoke.
