DIY about £600-800, all depends how long you intend to keep the car

No intention of doing it myself. possible new job that requires a 140 mile round trip daily and dont want to have to get another cheaper car to run as I like this one..

I would strongly advise DIY, member here went to a garage to have it done and the made a complete hash of it, was a utterly crap install. Many garages don't have a clue on the GM V6 when it comes to LPG.

You end up paying 3/4x the price for a rubbish install

It's your car but if you're going to pay someone you need to budget £2k+ and use the installer that did Entwood's car as it is the only "Professional" installer that I would let loose on my car ::) ::) ::)

DIY it's a good way to save money... 10k miles or so and it's completely repayed :y :y :y

There have been occasions where some members have helped with an installation  :y :y

It doesn't burn out valves, it burns out vale seats when they aren't up to the job... But Omega ones are :y :y :y

You don't always need a certificate, it just makes life easier. Any LPGA approved installer can give a safety certificate which will satisfy insurance companies and the DIY kit comes with the COP you have to follow :y :y

i really dont get these LPG conversions  :-/
if the cars already fitted then thats ok but i cant see a £2k install paying for itself in a hurry  ::)
also, when the GOV see everyone using LPG it,ll end up at £1.10 a litre anyway, remember cheap diesel?  >:(
its not for me  ;)

All depends on the millage you do, would take me a long time, but if you do the miles, can pay for itself surprisingly quickly.

Currently saving (in round terms) between 8 and 10p per mile... If you do the miles then it's worth it. I could have paid for a "professional" installation last August when I did mine and it still would have paid for itself by now :y :y :y As it it, the £700 mine cost was saved within 4 months.

As for the Government... They are currently committed to promoting LPG as it is a Green Fuel :y :y I'm sure the price will go up considerably in the future but I'm happy to reap the savings whilst they're there :y :y :y

DIY is not that bad. I am currently working on fitting a system to my Mig. I got a 2nd hand Bigas SGIS sytem, complete from *bay for £140, OK I have to replace the pipes and will change the filter, but that should pay for its self soon.
