On the way to my mid week home, last week, I noticed a faint squeaking noise from the engine bay, just before I joined the motor way.
85 miles later, I arrived at my location. And the 3 lights on my 12v power socket was only flashing two leds, and I could hear a flapping noise.
Turned out the auxiliary/alternator belt was falling apart because the tensioner was falling apart.
Took it to my old lodger who runs a garage up the road, and 24 hours later it's back to full health. 99 quid of parts and an hour labour. It meant that I could only go to work one day that week, but working from home so no issue really.

The tensioner pulley is a tenner.

Set up voice command in the Range Rover & it all works ! Never had anything like this in a vehicle before.  I'm catching up with technology, amazing what you can find to do on a horrible rainy day.
