LARGEST Front Brake ROTORS?
« on: 05 December 2010, 08:10:52 »

I am trying to find the largest front brake rotors that can be purchased that would sit where the current ones are but would allow for larger caliper to be used.

I have a pair of GTO brakes ready to go but they use a  315mm front Rotor...

OEM rotor on the Omega is 296mm...

Question is...is there another car out there like the Vectra or Astra that carries such a rotor but is close enough in dimentions that it would fit the Omega without the rotor surface moving too far in or too far out?

Anyone have any input on this?

Maybe look at Holden stuff as they are all rear wheel drive with bigger engines but similar chassis.

Do the gto callipers fit the omega hub mounting points by the way? Or do they need an adapter to give the correct position?

holden is 300mm, just like Omega.

I have 350 sitting quite nicely on an Omega, but needs 18" wheels for clearance tho. Mercedes ML, modified

Are teh A8 and the ML rotors similar to the oem ones... because I paln on using the GTO/monaro pad brackets... and they have to line up with teh rotors perfectly...

don't line up perfectly - I used a different caliper entirely.

I also have a Holden Commodore with the GTO brakes fitted, and they're probably the only brakes I've ever tried which are worse than the Omega, so I certainly wouldn't recommend them for a conversion. Pretty much all of the Monaros in the UK have had them taken off in favour of AP's
