Cadillac, our Dept. of Transportation, or both out of concern for our safety and doubting our ability to control the Catera, have limited the Catera's top speed to 125 MPH. The extra 15 MPH is on the clock so we feel inadequate when the needle stops moving.

They're limited to 125!?! That's ridiculous! I know people shouldn't go that fast anyway, but it'd nice to be able to make that decision yourself.

Is there some way to defeat the speed limiter?

I've had the needle at 133mph in my '99 Cat. However, the I was hitting around 6700 rpm. :-[
A far cry from when I had my '93 Acura Legend. While doing a run from Minneapolis to Detroit (back in the day), there was a 7-series BMW, a 300 Lexus and my Legend running between 125 - 150mph for a good stretch. The normal 12 hour trip ended up being 10 hours!!
Not that I'm a speed demon, but I was going through autobahn withdrawals having just returned from across the pond in Germany.
