Omega General Help / Reverse Bleeding the clutch
« on: 26 October 2009, 15:40:15 »
Hi all , my gearchange is still a bit grabby when gearbox is cold. after 20 miles or so its fine, super smooth in all gears at all revs. i.ve blead the clutch in the normal way but i remember a while back on here that you could revese bleed the thing to get rid of any small amounts of air that normal bleeding cant shift.
Is this as simple as it sounds but in reverse. I have an Easy bleed which i used last time.
Any tips?

Hi cookie monster you could try a couple of the guys on here mate, they do a first class job and charge a very small fee compared the the rip off garages i've delt with myself. Markey Mark for one and Marks DTM for another. Pm them and if you dont mind travelling to SLady bitshorpe or nottingham i.m sure they could fit you in. they do a proper job too

Yes mate stand firm. They had a test drive and were happy. You pays your money's and you take's your chance on a private sale.
Dont be bullied, they've broke it and are trying it on.
If it starts to get messy or violent then call the cops.

its probably never been done in 132K miles. What sort of fluid is in there? Is it the same as auto gearbox fluid? any idea how much it takes?

Omega General Help / steering problems
« on: 27 September 2009, 21:22:56 »
over the last few days i've had trouble with the power steering on my miggy. when i need to move the steering during tight parking situations or even backing off the drive it seems to get very stiff for a few seconds. it only does this when i first start the car. After that its seems ok. i.ve checked the fluid and around the pump for leaks and all seems ok. Is it the pump?

Omega General Help / gear changing problems
« on: 13 September 2009, 13:31:49 »
Morning all. A few weeks ago my miggy started to have trouble going into 3rd and 4th gear. it went in these gears but was very stiff. the gearbox was very noisy anyway. managed to get hold of an R28 gearbox so went to Markey Marks to get it fitted. Brilliant, the drive home was great (still a little stiff in 3rd and 4th but much better than before) and the power i seemed to have was great.
After a couple of days it started to get much worse and now i can only change gear after a slight delay to let the engine revs drop before it will go into gear. having a new clutch fitted by markey on monday hopefully and i really hope this sorts out my car.
Are the symptoms i've got clutch problems or something more serious. any body had this sort of thing happen to them?
Sorry for the long post

Hope the car gets me to marky marks on monday, can hardly get it in gear at the mo. it goes in but you have to wait till engine revs drop to below 2000 rpm before it does
