Fresh 2.0 Fault codes! Lambda?
« on: 07 March 2007, 08:02:15 »

Ok, paperclipped the 2.0 2 days ago, no codes stored at all. Driving home from work this morning, EML comes on and stays on. Stop the car, restart, and it goes away.

Just paperclipped it again, and I got:

38 - Oxygen sensor circuit Voltage high
93 - Can't find out what this is

Any ideas on possible cause? Maybe to do with awful economy?

Righto mate, I shall do the stat change and flush. Any easy way of testing the coolant temp sender to see if this is the case?

Any ideas on the 93 code?

James if i was you i would swap over the lambda sensor from your other 2 Litre for starters.

After I changed my Lambda Sensor As you know the MPG shot up.

One of my codes was the Oxygen sensor circuit Voltage high

but i did also have Oxygen sensor circuit Voltage low

and the code for knacked Heater in the lambda

Now you've bought all that Tesco petrol it is the time to get an Oxygen sensor gratis, surely?  ;)

Regarding gauge you should get a bit of water flow through the expansion tank when the car is fully warmed up. Dunk a thermometer in there and see what it says. Failing that, as presumably yours is a bit easier to get to than a V6 one, you could remove the sensor, extend the wires a little and dunk it in a kettle of boiling water.
