hello, dont know if one of the mods will want to move this to matchless' thread but regarding the starter inhibitor and reverse lights....

to save messing with the loom you can get a spare selector switch (just the connector and about two inch or so of wire from each pin is required)

then wire it up as:
Pin F and D for reverse light switch
then Pins B,G and D (will need a short piece of wire about two inch for this to connect to D aswell
Pin E and H
which makes the car think its in neutral
*Note* I cant be bothered with cruise control lol!
and if i want to go back to auto then just plug only selector switch in on autobox!

thanks

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / starter inhibitor....
« on: 19 March 2012, 19:05:09 »
hello,
can somebody tell me the pins needed to be shorted on the selector switch for the starter inhibitor, i've got a thick black and thick yellow on my facelift (from memory pin A and pin D) - pin D and F need soldering to the reverse light switch which i've made a piece of loom up for, having no loom/connector from donor car for it - so knicked one from the T5 :P

thanks in advance

im not sure wether i want to sell it or not as stated in the thread for it in discussion
if i was going to sell it then i think i'd ask no less than £800 as it cost me over 1k

good points:
gearbox is fine, no issues, never had any problems with it- im on about swapping the gearbox to a manual box so if anybody wants it then tell me if you want me to do it or not to do it if you prefer
new wishbones recently fitted
new tie-rods recently fitted on the front
no mayo in the oil filler pipe
everything electrical but the heated seats work - one of the rears work drivers side from memory but fronts need sorting if it bothers people- drivers side doesnt work at all it seems and passenger heats up on one side

bad points:
front drivers door has gone at the bottom but i have a new door to put on when i pick it up
i've managed to chaffe through the passenger side pipe for the self leveling rear strut (doh) the strut is slightly rotated on the passenger side
it needs a tyre
heated seats dont work as said before
the cam covers leak - didnt know about it when i bought it but they seem to leak at the back
and theres a leak on the front diff seal
and the rear passenger window doesnt go down on any of the switches, i've not had time to look at it- i dont wind it down as im never in the back lol

 dont ask why.....
i was out in a little civic 1.5 the other night and it was fun :D
nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, VTEC YO! lol
was suprisingly fast for 120bhp if that?

it had coilovers which helped and it doesnt weigh much but even in the 1.6 vti's they make 158bhp  ;D or the 1.5 Esi is 130ish

anyone fancy my elite? lol!!!

Hello,
I can upload pics tomorrow but got a set of facelift elite alloys, 2 or 3 tyres are ok but 1's fooked!
can upload pics if required- theyre the late 5 flat blade like spokes lookin about 250ish

an AR25 from a 2.6 with T/C about £90ish ono
an AR35 from the 3.2 when i get it off - it'll probably be off in two weeks unless somebody wants it and can do it this weekend if desperate but i'll be after £150ish for that, not had a problem with it at all but want to go manual

thanks

is it possible to fit the sub in the saloons and do you need the loom or just feed some wires to the rear for it? Thanks

"Electrical

Cut off the auto selector switch connector.
 Starter inhibit
Join the two thick Bk/R wires by soldering.
 Reverse Lights
Separate the reverse switch wires from the donor loom and solder one side to the Bk wire (was on   pin D) solder the other side to the W/Bk wire (was on pin F)
 Lambda sensors
Plug-in the Lambda sensors, the auto loom is a bit short so move the connector fixing clips and tyrap the loom in place clear of hot bits. Tie up unused connectors and loom ends"

how d'you know which pin F or D is in the case of the reverse lights?
thanks

Omega General Help / odd rumbling turning left with throttle...
« on: 26 February 2012, 22:06:15 »
hello, i've checked the front drivers side wheel bearing for play as thats what it sounds like
i get a wheel bearing noise when turning left with medium throttle/when accelerating into a bend, dont think i get it as much when off the throttle if at all

otherwise what could it be? i thought it could possibly be to do with the brake disc/caliper carrier catching the disc or something?

thanks
alex

p.s its had new wishbones and tierods on the front and still making the noise

can somebody get me a picture inside where the magazine goes in and pushes this "button" so the headunit knows the magazine is loaded, i've taken pics of the inside of the hole and cant see a button or switch that the magazine pressed when it is inserted?
thanks
alex
