Are bosch super plus spark plugs ok to use in my 2.6? or is the general thinking to use genuine GM ones

GM quads are half the price of the Bosch ones :y

But to answer your question, yes they'll be fine :y

Gm are the same quality for a fraction of the cost

I'd use twins, not quads, though. We've seen a few instances of quads shedding the (thin) electrical contacts and damaging the head face / bore / internals :y

I could say the same about my single experience of twins... failure rate of 1 in 6 :o

But we consider it more a forum wide view.  :y

Plus the quads offer no advantage over the cheaper twins and arguably will shield the spark more....all for the sake of longer service intervals (during which time they tend to come loose anyway)

Good experience with GM twins here, use them in all 4 Omega's never had a single problem  :y

LPG needs a stronger spark too, mine are overdue an inspection, but all good so far.  :)

I've got a feeling the GM ones are rebranded Bosch anyway, are they not?

Either way, it's pointless to spend motor factor prices for the Bosch plugs. :o

Fair dos :y

My failure coincided with the missfire issues so not as clear a picture as might seem... I change the plugs every 20k any way :y

.....
and arguably will shield the spark more.... ....

I've heard that comment repeatedly .... and still don't see how.  :-\ You can see as much of the relevant parts of the spark plug from end on of a 4 prong plug as you can from a 2 prong plug  ??? ???

Quad gaps will last much longer than twins.  Why? Because you have 4  electrodes to erode instead of 2.

If your plugs are coming loose there is something wrong with them or more likely the way they are fitted.  There is no especial vibration on a plug,  if torqued to 25Nn and they are coming loose I would expect a lot of other bolts to be coming off your car too - Coolant pump bolts, Crankcase breather tube bolts, Crankshaft pulley bolts, Crankshaft sensor rotor bolts to name just 4 at the same or less torque.

What's the point in longer life? Might as well replace at 20k. Cheaper to buy too.

I've torqued spark plugs to correct value, yet on inspection are looser than fitting.

Only reason GM specify quads is to please fleet managers, along with stupid 20k oil changes. For "cheaper"  fleet management.
