The TVP bumper cars were probably scrapped after failing to sell at WOMA, not helped by the fact that they were the only two non runners at one of several sales I visited there.

The ex Met '53 black Elite estate that Josh acquired went to a forum member, think that was originally a £5-6k car. The ad is on here, probably 2010/2011 :-\

Think Joff may still have it...

I don’t think so, but his brother may have it. It was a nice car. 👍

You sure your not confusing it with Twiglets ? His went to Scotland, and last I heard he was talking about buying it back.
Dont know if he ever did though.

Perhaps it wasn't Scotland, but Joff kept it up to scratch, sold it to someone who didn't quite have the same standards, bought it back a year or so later and promptly had to go through it to reverse all the neglect... :-\

But that was a while ago :D

Back on track, looking at the pictures in the other thread, only Plod would drill an MV6 bumper for a pair of Whelen 500 TIR6s ;D

So it left the factory with MV6 wheels and tyres.

Fitting those 15" steelies is a bizarre choice. Especially with LSC as the handling must be odd when pressing on :-\

It actually handles really well, especially on our rough back roads where it doesn't meander as much as my other MV6 on 17" wheels, although that is better with new tyres all round. [One rear tyre had about 4-5mm less tread depth than the other, probably because of the open diff.]  What is odd on the black car is that in order to fit the 15" wheels they must have had to fit smaller front brakes.  It does stop well, probably because it has good (Jurid) pads, but the pedal is even spongier than normal.  I still think there must be air in the system, which might explain the squelchy noises coming from the ABS body when pumping the pedal. Somebody told me that there is a way of triggering the ABS pump with a Tech 2, but at the show we borrowed one and there doesn't seem to be a menu for that.

All Omega brakes fit inside the 15" wheel ;) Discs are unchanged from the 3.0 Carlton, four pots originally had smaller discs, but from '98 everything got the 296x28mm fronts.

Omega pedal feel isn't great as they don't snatch in the way a Focus might. But shouldn't squelch. Abs activation is a Tech2 job, and essential if the system hasn't been bled properly, ie allowed to drop below the minimum level during bleeding. May also be an indication of master cylinder issues...

I thought there were two different sizes of discs for the front depending on engine size?

Originally yes, but see my last.

Also covered in depth elsewhere. The only differences that affect the 2.6/3.2 is the addition of vented rears, again factory standard, but this only changes the disc thickness... 286mm diameter remained unchanged from the Carlton/Omega A ;) the other difference being that TC actuates the rear brakes as well as cutting the throttle... this is probably the primary reason for the vented discs.

very nice  8)
are those 195/65/15 tyres  :-\ or wider ?
205/65R15.  Apparently they had special high speed W or Y rated ones supplied in period for Motorway cars. This car is on Goodyears all round with a manufactured date of 2003/4, and they are not.  It handles potholes, and kerbs well :y

What rating are they? Regardless of skinny high profile tyres on small wheels, it's still a 150mph car with a 2,195 kg gross weight.

Bear in mind that it was built with W rated tyres. TVP fitted Goodyear NCTs on their Omegas with the standard 16" alloys... 225/55/16 99W iirc.
