There was riding round Hull a few years ago

It was on a Rover Metro, then it was on a Rover 400 and last time I saw it years ago was on a mundane Hyundai SUV sort of vehicle. Elderly couple in the cars - so could have been
inherited and sold on now.

Might have sold it now as that would be worth a few ££.

All still quiet 🤞

Hopefully thatís cured it the alarm fault. Iíll get a new bonnet switch sometime. At least the fire hazard powersounder is out the way.

I donít suppose that one horn button working for the MOT is a problem. Not sure why only one working but can live with it.

As far as I know itís all quiet on the alarm front. Hopefully it was the bonnet catch 👍

Iíll keep a ear out from now on. I think even when Iíve locked it with the blade itís set the alarm - anytime it was locked it could go off seemingly 🤔

Thanks - Iíve disconnected the bonnet sensor.

See if that does the job. Iím listening out as we speak 😄

TBH - car is blocked in and behind security gates off the road - but appreciate low life is everywhere!

Well the alarm keeps going off every so often on my pfl MV6.

I have removed the power sounder thinking it was that but once activated with the remote central locking, it sounded again after about 15 mins. Obviously canít keep the car locked as it goes off, sometimes in the night.

What could this be down to? Thought taking the power sounder out would stop it.

Incidentally I noticed that one of the horn buttons on the steering wheel doesnít work.

Any pointers anyone?

Hi - did you get fixed up with a timing kit/tools.

Iím near market Weighton and have a set

Well yesterday actually.

Two of the instrument panel bulbs on my Pfl MV6 heater/fan display were out - so I undertook the mammoth task of stripping everything out to get to 5 x 1.2w bulbs costing no more than £10. Replaced them all whilst in there.

Stereo out, ashtray out, all ďpush inĒ buttons out, plug in wiring out. Then struggling with that daft handle thatís pretty near on impossible to pull down to release the instrument cluster.

Anyways all back together now and lit up 😊

Cars for Sale & wanted / Re: Wanted - pfl 3.0 Elite - why

Yea bid on the heritage one and watched it through.

Probably right money to be honest but too expensive for me - considering itíll need a bit spending on it to future proof running it.

Iíll put some more pics up on gallery of the MV6. Although struggle on this site to get pics on.

Need a moderator to move this to the wanted section 👍

Cars for Sale & wanted / Wanted - pfl 3.0 Elite - why
« on: 30 April 2021, 16:36:41 »
Iím looking for a stable mate for my pfl MV6 so thought Iíd look for a pfl Elite.

Condition and mileage not too important. Most things considered

Iím located East Yorkshire, so prefer something than Dorset or Inverness

Iím looking to put a wanted ad - apparently I need 250 posts but have 205, yet I see Newbies posting on the for sale/wanted?

Is there something I need to do (other than another 45 posts) to be able to access that section?

Just another couple of thoughts

If a claim isnít made, it will save your excess being knocked off and preserve no claims bonus 🤔

Depends if it was your fault or not. If thereís another party have you given them the option to pay you direct for the damage at an agreed figure to save their insurance being involved - or is it too far down the line for that?

Agree with Doc Gollum - some extras on cars arenít worth anymore. It might make them rarer but buyers for specific cars are very rare too 😏

Thatís a shame. Hopefully itís not too bad and a DIY repair. They write things off for nothing, particularly older cars deemed not worth much in their eyes.

Is it you making the claim? Or the other parties insurance? If itís you making the claim, is it worth it?  - depends on level of damage I guess. A lot of good, economical parts available S/H on eBay or breakers. This will also save it being recorded as a write off.

Main thing is, have you the car still? Assume you have. Donít let insurance company have car as itís probably last youíll see of it as many posts on here will confirm.

I would think really what you need to ask them for is what they want for the salvage? Difficult to value cars as prices range so wildly dependent on mileage, history, owners and  condition.  I guess youíve an idea what you want for it based on what you paid for it and spent on it.

Think of a realistic figure, more on the high side and be prepared to negotiate down a little. Theyíll knock of the salvage value and pay you difference.

Watched and bid on this today - but in the end went for £3,600 plus 15% prem.

Not a bad price I suppose - nice car for a future keep

Got a new SIM card the other day from Vodaphone.

Once installed and top-up done all works fine 👍
