Unfortunately due to the number of posts I have I couldn't put it on here for sale...

I think £650 is faiirish - I will buy it back off him in a couple of years when he's finished with it  :y

The thing that niggles me is that he's a heavy smoker, and gets through cars like I do cans of Old Speckled Hen

It's not listed as an option on the MV6 on the 1998 spec list but its a 2000 V reg - it does have the twin Bose speakers in the back shelf and the amp in the boot under the shelf.

Sounds nice too  :y

The car is an auto, and it's not an ex plod.

It has cloth seats, no cruise. It has the ccrt600 stereo - no sat nav.

As you say the mileage is the key and does go like stink :)

I haven't yet let it go nor has he paid me for it yet.

I'm not far from York.

It is a 2000 V plate

I reckon a wheel bearing is going, exhaust blowing a little when cold.

But very responsive and light to drive.

Just sold my old MV6 with 79k miked on clock, to another chap in the village for £650

6 months mot and two months tax, tidy velvet green - basic spec - normal drivers door rust :(

Mine is a pre facelift MV6 auto in star silver.

I think it is a full spec as it can be  : Leather, cruise, Bose sound, ccrt700 radio/telephone, sat nav

One previous owner who confirmed all supplied as new with car :)

I'm fortunate (or not) to have two MV6s on a V plate - having just acquired another one last week.

I have just changed the coil pack on the more recent acquisition and drove it earlier today on a test drive and have just been out in the other one.

They seem to be quite different in acceleration/power - my existing car being the better of the two.

Mileages are 96k on the newer acquisition and 79k my existing car.

Any fundamental reasons why - I suppose there could be lots of reasons but any obvious things to check?

Success -got it all back together with some cussing - sounded a bit lumpy when started but revved it a couple of times and it seems ok.

Noticed whilst checking spark plugs that a bit of oil is getting down the plug tubes  :-\

Coolant level hasn't changed to speak of, but will keep an eye on it  ;)

It looked like it was the original part on the car to be honest judging by its overall condition - maybe wrong though.

Looking to be extra careful putting leads back on right sequence as you say Webby - want a nice clean fire up when I turn the key  :)

Got the blighter out - reckon about half hour "sussing" the job and about hour and half getting it unbolted and removed from the car.

Looked at Haynes manual, but thankfully didn't need to remove wiper mechanism or wiper motor, just tied wiring and tubing out the way managed to reach bolts with various socket attachments/ extension bars and extracted it through the drivers side - it certainly wasn't going to come out the passenger side  without removing a lot more "bits" !

At least I'm happy it's knackered as it was split in two places and the bottom had rotted out on one end - I haven't wasted my time

New Bosch unit ordered from Andrew Page for £115 +vat

I know what I'm doing Wednesday morning now  :)

Thanks Omegod - just read this post before I went off shopping  :y

Omega General Help / About to start coil pack change on 3.0 MV6
« on: 16 August 2014, 09:04:42 »
Just about to make a start on swapping coil pack over on my 3.0 MV6.

Symptoms are systematic with a faulty one - misfire, no management light, no oil in water (or vice versa).

First thing I realise I need us a set of Tork sockets, got the the "male" version but not these ones.

I've read the forum "how to" but just wondered if anyone has any particular dos and dont's before I make a start - once I get back from Halfords with my sockets :)

General Car Chat / Specification options on p/fl 3.0 MV6
« on: 20 July 2014, 10:08:48 »
Just wondered if anyone knows what the option list was available on the pre facelift MV6?

Colours, sat nav, cruise, stereo style(varied options I would have thought), leather. Was the Auto standard and therefore was a manual gearbox the option ?

Can't think of anything else......

Thanks guys will have a look next weekend

I assume it can be identified too by jacking front wheels and checking for play?
