Omega General Help / Re: Lack of heating - pfl 3.0 MV6
« on: 19 October 2021, 21:08:27 »
Evening

Yes that’s the control panel I have.

I do have a spare if it needs it

Will try the reset procedure as battery was disconnected for a while.

Thanks for comments - big help 👍

Been out for a run in MV6 and got it well up-to temperature.

Both pipes for the heater matrix are defo hot.

Seems could be a control panel fault if such exists. 🤔

The blower only seems to work (without heat) on the middle air vents with no blower or heat on floor or screen

Well I think it’s two fold.

Certainly not blowing on screen when selected and don’t believe there is any hot air coming out the bottom or middle vents 🤔

It’s the pfl with the 4 round control buttons (1999 mini facelift) 👍

Took the MV6 out today.

Screen misty so full blower but nothing coming onto screen.

I know these are electronic selection so guess there’s something gone askew behind the selector button(s).

Is there a test to run or check I can make. I’ll have to remove stereo, ashtray etc  and remove the control panel.

Any pointers   ? 🤷🏼‍♂️

There was riding round Hull a few years ago
HRH 2

It was on a Rover Metro, then it was on a Rover 400 and last time I saw it years ago was on a mundane Hyundai SUV sort of vehicle. Elderly couple in the cars - so could have been
inherited and sold on now.

Might have sold it now as that would be worth a few ££.

All still quiet 🤞

Hopefully that’s cured it the alarm fault. I’ll get a new bonnet switch sometime. At least the fire hazard powersounder is out the way.

I don’t suppose that one horn button working for the MOT is a problem. Not sure why only one working but can live with it.

40
As far as I know it’s all quiet on the alarm front. Hopefully it was the bonnet catch 👍

I’ll keep a ear out from now on. I think even when I’ve locked it with the blade it’s set the alarm - anytime it was locked it could go off seemingly 🤔

41
Thanks - I’ve disconnected the bonnet sensor.

See if that does the job. I’m listening out as we speak 😄

TBH - car is blocked in and behind security gates off the road - but appreciate low life is everywhere!

42
Well the alarm keeps going off every so often on my pfl MV6.

I have removed the power sounder thinking it was that but once activated with the remote central locking, it sounded again after about 15 mins. Obviously can’t keep the car locked as it goes off, sometimes in the night.

What could this be down to? Thought taking the power sounder out would stop it.

Incidentally I noticed that one of the horn buttons on the steering wheel doesn’t work.

Any pointers anyone?

Omega General Help / Re: Cam Locking Kit

Hi - did you get fixed up with a timing kit/tools.

I’m near market Weighton and have a set

Cheers

Well yesterday actually.

Two of the instrument panel bulbs on my Pfl MV6 heater/fan display were out - so I undertook the mammoth task of stripping everything out to get to 5 x 1.2w bulbs costing no more than £10. Replaced them all whilst in there.

Stereo out, ashtray out, all “push in” buttons out, plug in wiring out. Then struggling with that daft handle that’s pretty near on impossible to pull down to release the instrument cluster.

Anyways all back together now and lit up 😊

Yea bid on the heritage one and watched it through.

Probably right money to be honest but too expensive for me - considering it’ll need a bit spending on it to future proof running it.

I’ll put some more pics up on gallery of the MV6. Although struggle on this site to get pics on.

Need a moderator to move this to the wanted section 👍
