As above... My careful placing of the loom as I was putting everything together means I've tucked the headlight level sensor out of the way. Where does it come out of the loom, so I stand a chance of finding it? :y

We had an interesting eating experience last month in Spain. We polled up at a rural hotel and the owner said I will book you in to a restaurant in next village.

When we arrived it looked like any hock village cafe bar. Owner came over and said what do you fancy? Is there a menu.?  No. What do you fancy? Fish, meat? We settled fpr beef.  Bottle of wine which came with a very nice tapas ( free) . Dessert was delicious too. No prices! It was one of the nicest meals we had for ages. 84 euros for two.  We think he was a Michelin star type chef that had down sized for an easy life.

Theres a place in France called La Lauzetane (possibly spelt wrong...) - magnificent, outnin the mountains. Owner just does a fixed menu every day, will accommodate you if you have allergies etc but otherwise "tomight its fish" or whatever.

I love it, and it must be better than having mounds of unused food sitting about every night just in case.

General Car Chat / Re: Rent a heated seat for your beemer

This is why coding apps like Bimmercode and Carly are so popular for coding in options.

What makes the linked article interesting though is that a lot of the options must already be on the car at manufacture - ie heating pads in seats and steering wheel but coded out in the ECU.... That would have been like buying an Omega GLS but actually it's an Elite with bits turned off  ::)

The thing with over the air updates is how long before we see car manufacturers acting like Microsoft (Lets make Windows XP slower with the final service pack to encourage Windows 7 uptake) or Apple (Lets slow older devices down and tell everyone it's to preserve battery life). .........Hello Sir, we've decided that your car is now five years old so we've limited it to 50Mph and it will only start and drive between 9am and 6pm.  >:D
The possibilities are endless. No more police chases in a beemer, or any other make for that matter. The rozzers just ring up and get the car switched off. Many, many more applications.

Switched off? Nay! Think of the fuel savings if I got it to deliver them outside the nick in a locked car.

I would suggest that therwas an option to turn the heating up to 11 as well, but PSD would not appreciate it...

Once I'd taken everyone's (much appreciated) feedback onboard and sat down to actually do the belt, further evidence came to light to suggest that the engine was previously worked on by a silverback gorilla with the delicate touch of a wrecking ball.

Someone call for me? ;)

Outstanding work, the feeling of satisfaction when everything works as intended is brilliant isn't it!

Do you fancy takeing your partner for a lovely meal?

Sadly if they are vegan then dont bother,
If you want other than beef - dont bother
If you fancy Sirloin - dont hold your breath - you get what you are given.

I see nothing wrong with this. Take it or leave it. He'll still sell it out ten times over and anyone expecting anything else is deluded...

:D :D I get that monthly. Got to cut back in these tense financial times!

DIY job with the hedge trimmer.

What's the worst that can happen? >:D

If I am left alone with a rubber mat or a tennis ball I still find a way to inflict life changing injuries on myself so... Maybe not :)

Electrically speaking the sensors are identical.

The actual difference is the length of the wire due to the gearbox shape. :y

This.

Or if you don't mind fiddling on with the wires you can get Bosch generic pnes that have an adapater plug to the GM worong :y

 This^^^^^ as it's cheaper
And you can also extend the wires if you move the sensors when fitting 3.0L downpipes, or modify the 2.6 ones

Its also possible to overestimate the length needed so you end up dismantling it under the car and having to redo it. Which involves stripping the Worlds Hardest Wire Insulation while laid on your back and trying not to sever an artery with the knife.

My proper auto wire strippers will do house wires, three core, and circumcisions without a problem.but the Bosch wiring just laughed at them :D

Went to the petrol station, filled up a jerry can with super, drove back under armed guard given the newly precious cargo.

Popped it into the ex plod, project  moneypit, Zeke, call him what you will.

And... After a bit of huffing and puffing... He runs!

Now to tidy up the wir8ng runs, finish the wheels, extinguish more fire... And get it tracked, tyred and MOTd....

So. Doing a quick and dirty wheel refurb. Aerosol and a plastic can gun. Merrily spraying the inner barrel and what I assume was a static shock set light to the paint and propellant. Nice little fireball to wake me up.

Good thing I was stood else LittleGK would be a bit crispier than ideal. As it is, I'm going to save money on my fortnightly leg wax...! :D

Yeah, timing is off - are you fitting all new?

If so do as Nick describes and if you spin it over by hand enough times to be certain its right... Its right :y

Can you bridge or unbridge the sensor wiring (whichever it needs)? I've tried all the usual suspects to no avail... But Amazon have some for £288, which must be a good investment...
