They certainly are popular round here, one of the cab firms used to run old Mercs have switched completely over to MGs, and a lot of retired folk who used to run BL vehicles have stayed loyal to WH Brand who are now MG dealers & appear to have a very good reputation in Lincolnshire, I've used the cab firm on a few occasions they seem quite well put together but a bit basic.

Would you do the mechanical work yourself or do you have someone capable of doing the work correctly?

Got the original bill of sale of my 2007 one £59, 837.58 I paid £7,000 for it just over 4 years ago spent & I've probably spent £3,500 on it for servicing & bringing it up to  my required standard almost changed it for an SVR a few months back until I saw the insurance quote (£1400) at present i pay £340 got absolutely no intention of changing it does absolutely everything I expect from it & is superbly comfortable.

Done the same with my XJ8l. Spent a few grand on it to get it right👍👍
.

It makes sense if you intend keeping it, I can't justify paying £30,000+ for a more up to date vehicle when I only cover 5,000 miles a year+ it makes me smile when I drive it..👍

.....

He decided to ignore all his own warnings about towing and towed me home 1/2 mile rather than call in a pick up truck. We went very slowly but I hope my trans is OK.  ....

it's ok to tow an auto 1/2 mile  :y
Upto a certain speed.

In theory you can tow start an auto but you need to have your wits about you.

These things are all possible. But actual data relating to distances or speeds that are safe is lacking.
Which is why not towing automatics is the sensible, rational approach.
.

Absolutely right, I requested a low loader for the RRS as it was automatic & the manual states should not be towed, no quibble at all from Mayday ( Green Flag)

In London it is virtually impossible to insure a Range Rover I'm led to believe, one guy on the forum has been quoted £18,000 to insure his new SVR value of it is approximately £140,000 crazy money.

Given how late the government are to the party about securing critical infrastructure, makes no difference, we're still Donald Ducked!

I don't know how you can be so pessimistic, we've installed the bestest chinese hardware at our most critical sites and the Chinese have assured us that they are super secure.  ::) ::)

What could possibly go wrong?
