So sorry Barry, sending all our love.  With her age, and being the oldest in the country for a while you must have some fantastic memories.

Swapped the spark plugs on the Golf as a cyl 4 misfire detected.
theres other things going on too, but the plugs were due anyway so worth swapping anyway
Didnt cure the fault and neither did moving the coil packs between cylinders.

Main issue is a P2015 which looks like it needs a new Inlet Manifold.

Car very jumpy and hunting esp at idle.

Be aware the methods here are for the software running on this site (SMF), and that they wont work everywhere.
Depends where you are posting them, there may well be a different method depending on the software involved.

Nearly spun it on the M23 this morning. Hit a mahoosive puddle at a reasonable pace, the only warning of which was a wave large enough to surf on from a lorry that hadn't seen it either...  :o when I hit it, it was deep enough to hide the headlight beams and I thought I might have drowned it :'(

Still, the ESP, aka Anti Elk device, works, although it did lose the front number plate, two wheel trims and half of the damaged 'before I bought it' undertray.

All in all, not a bad result considering  ::)

Thought my acc had been cancelled.  Struggling on my phone but got back on.

My IP was blocked and access is denied. Could admin please unblock my IP caddy please.

TIA  :y
If you are using a proxy to access, well, TBH, it'll always get blocked. That's the nature of them.

If you're not, PM me your (blocked) IP, and I will see if its in our block list and remove if required.

Does this mean I won't be able to access OOF via a VPN?

Depends....via VPN theres a fair chance you'll (try) to come in via a blocked IP and therefore wont get access.
Same for any site that utilises blocklists.

Rather than just say buy this....
I'd like to know her requirements.
£800 is a lot on a laptop (imho) £400 may be more than adequate without more knowledge.

Is she after lightness? battery life?  touchscreen?  size - Small / Medium / Large? What does she want it for and where does she use it?

My zafira did me well for over 100k  no regrets at all, but im less keen on the newer ones styling.

Lets just say weve had a user subscribe....and cannot get on here since, presumably as the IP he has is flagged as very high risk!

Assuming you have Microsoft office installed?

Ive seen similar a few times lately, easiest fix has been to go to control panel, programs and features, find MS Office in the list and click repair, this will fix any corruption and reasociate the files correctly.

I suspect their association has changed rather than the actual files, making this look worse than it is.

Your firefox bookmarks will be in here, you will need to amend to suit your system, but should give you enough to go on  :
C:\Users\yourprofile\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\x0fkkdv2.default-1325393341669
file you need is places.sqlite

That is an editable (with the right software) database, normally you'd export from it within firefox to get your bookmarks, whether you can just overwrite a new installation with the old file, I dont know, but worth a try.

General Discussion Area / Re: OCR software that actually works?
« on: 24 October 2019, 09:19:05 »
Ill ask the obvious question...you have checked theres not an electronic version you can fill in?, or editable one you can download?

Something like this is never easy, scan as picture, then use publisher or similar to draw text boxes as required would probably be quicker and easier then trying to automate the process for a one off.

OCR will destroy formatting, and Im guessing the form owner will be expecting something resembling the original back, with all boxes exactly where they should be etc.

For the record, best OCR Ive used is Omnipage, but nothings perfect.
