For whatever reason, Boris is a serial election winner. So from that point of view he is an asset to his party.
The problem is that there should be a team of very able people behind him to do the serious work, but there isnt.
There is mediocrity and incompetence everywhere you look.
As Ive said before though, they are lucky enough to have an opposition which is so much worse than they are.
The problem these days is that politicians are afraid of making difficult decisions. There is always some group that is going to get the shitty end of the stick and, in the past, that was grudgingly accepted because it was for the greater good.
Not now. Every lazy bastard that won't get a job, every person with mental health problems, every ethnic group, everyone of a certain sexual persuasion.......blah, blah, they all get a platform on the likes of the Bolshevic Broadcasting Corporation, and the government are forced into a u turn.
Governments can't even lay down the law at the beginning of their five year tenure, because the back benchers, who are self interested bastards, pipe up about certain minorities being disadvantaged, in order to further their own interests.
We're fûcked, and have been since we started trying to please everyone.
