Exhaust manifold for a 2ltr 16v omega
« on: 28 November 2021, 08:51:38 »

Well along with my omega causing fun. I noticed that the manifold on the wifes omega, has a small hairline crack on the top of it.  I have found two new manifolds. The one is for no EGR and the other is for a car with EGR.  It also says it fits a 2.2 is it the same manifold for a 2ltr and a 2.2ltr? What I was wandering if I was to buy the one that is for no EGR, would it basicly be the same as blanking off the EGR, which I have been looking at doing due to age of the one on the car. And all the problems we have had with emissions. It also looks like it doesn't have the Secondary air system fittings on it, which I am also happy to delete as the pump is starting to make a noise.

This is says it fits a 2.0 16v and ONLY FOR VEHICLES WITHOUT EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION!

This is says it fits a OPEL VAUXHALL OMEGA B 2.0 VECTRA B 1.8 2.0 ONLY FOR VEHICLES WITH EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION

Thanks in advance, for any help

Neither of my 2.2s had an egr valve. Both Y22SE '52/03.

Physically the 2.0 16v /2.2 16v should be interchangeable. If you get an egr one but don't have an egr you should be able to blank the port.

Basically, AIUI, the X20/X22 has an egr whereas the Y22 doesn't.

The Z22 is a totally different engine.  ;)

Thanks DG for the reply that the 2.2 manifold in the links will fit. My thinking was if I get the manifold, that is for the engine without EGR, then I could just leave the EGR on the engine, instead of putting a blanking plate on it, as the channel from the EGR to exhaust will not be on the manifold, if that makes sense.

You might need to use the Y22XE/Z22XE manifold gasket?

The manifolds in the links, come with new gasket, studs and nuts. Is the gasket in the kit no good, on the non EGR manifold kit?

The gasket looks the same, as do the manifolds except one has a drilled and threaded port for the egr.  :y

So the 2.2 EGR is fitted different to the 2.0, as the 2.0 is fitted on the piece where the water coolant sensors go?
I want to remove the EGR on the 2.0 anyway, so the non EGR one sounds the best one?

Never owned a 2.2 with an egr, so don't know.

What engine is fitted?

By that I mean the engine code... Be on the black sticker on the B Pillar.

The engine in wifes car is a 2.0 16v engine code x20xev. It has the EGR at the back of the engine.
