…….
I can't imagine many things worse than ploughing forwards in sub zero temperatures with the rain lashing your body and wondering if your hands will be able to move if you need to stop
The riding gear has come a long long way since the early days. When I started riding motorbikes you wore just jeans, helmet, doc martins, gauntlets and a motorbike jacket if you were lucky. The crash helmets had no breathers in so they steamed up in foggy, frosty weather, so you lifted the visor to see where you were going. When you got to your destination you had frost on your knees and your eyebrows.
If I’d have been wearing modern gear when I had my accident I’m sure I’d have come out of it with less breakages. Going from 95mph to zero when your not still attached to the bike is quite painful when the adrenaline wears off.
