Id seen a Regal on egay for around £80, though for the slightly later engine. Not sure if that has any differences, other than mid to rear looks to be clamped rather than flanged.

Never heard of Regal, and if I replace exhaust, was kinda hoping it would last a few years, unlike the Klarius shite :(

Lots of painting and epoxying over the last couple of days. Also grabbed an hour in between monsoons to strart stripping the engine. How much easier it is to reach the bolts without an Omega in the way...

The old girl went for an MOT today and it looks like the news is not good.  :( Garage rung me late this afternoon and tin worm has taken over! I have not been to see the rot yet but have been seriously thinking about what to do about it!  I was going to sell/get rid of this year, but medical issues caught up with me late last year. I need a car to go to Raigmore hospital Inverness on a regular basis. The quandry is, do I get some welding done and keep her going? I am of an age that driving will get more difficult but need the old grl. I cannot be arsed looking for another car at this stage in my life. I do know a welder that does that sort of thing, so I might go down that road first to see what he says. What do you fellow OOF'ers think?  :-\ :-\

Update to the welding saga and even worse news.
The old girl has had it. The welder said that it would be uneconomical to fix it.
So looking for another car that is a bit higher as my Rheumatoid Arthritis is not going away.
I don't know what I am going to do with it. I would rather see that spares are used from it rather than crushing.  :'( :'(

Keep you posted.  :y

I have been mulling over this and I have decided to get rid!
I was thinking that I should offer it to an OOF'er for FREE if they can take it away.
Any takers??

Cheers  :y :y

Fuel filter, associated hoses and air filters changed on the Alabama Mumsybus.

Piece of cake to bleed... Simply cycle the ignition three times for 20 seconds until the bubbling in the tank stops. Done.

The air filters were a dogs arse to remove, especially the driver side one as there's about half a millimeter clearance all around it ??? Managed to snap a mounting off it putting it back in >:( :-[ And to top it off, the PCV valve is leaking more than an Omega HBV :D so a new one of those required and I will rectify the airbox at the same time.

Also managed to drop a screw driver behind the grill and sheared two of the bolts holding that in... Slam panel off to rectify that ::) found a couple of other silly bits missing, so they'll get added to the list.

Cleared all the codes caused by turning the ignition on with the MAFs unplugged and it fired straight up. Which was nice. No more fuel leaks and the air filters were mining... So that's a couple of wins.

Another win was the very minimal trace of oil on the intake side of the turbo and the feed to the intercooler. None would suggest the turbo isn't getting any oil and gallons would suggest that it is getting too much :D

Which, unusually for Chiltern, is on time and running well....

...unlike my colleagues bus service, which seems to have disappeared.  He says good job its not freezing outside, and not windy....   ...oh, hang on ;D

Took my colleague over 2hrs to do 9 miles by bus. Took me just over 1.5hrs to do central Brum to Brakkers.

He wasn't a happy chappie ;D

Had the dents knocked out of the black car by DragonsDents in Daventry.  I wish I'd taken a picture before, but the results are nothing short of wizardry.  I just need to avoid all the fallen trees and branches that are all over the road now ::)
