Took the daily for its MOT (Yeti) , pass no advisories. Made a stainless exhaust system for the Austin, just has a 600mm silencer on each bank and then goes to a X shape crossover/balance with the tail pipes exiting in front of rear wheels as no room around rear suspension.

Two new front tyres today. Got 25,000 miles out of the last ones, and I certainly don't drive like Tunnie. I think autos must be easier on the driving wheels.
Down to the cords then.  :D
Not even down to the wear markers, I'm a responsible citizen don't you know  :P

I remember the 10 year test which came before MOTs blue sticker with white letters in the windscreen.

In Norn Irn the MOT came in, in the mid 70,s. there was a 35 acre field round the corner from us and it filled up with old cars in the space of a few days.
My Dads Viva failed on 37 separate items iirc.  ;D
The system over there is still different. Its carried out at Govt. test centres, not garages.
The MOT is worth the paper its written on.

Think first MOTs were just lights, brakes and steering. My mate had a Ford Zephyr with the cords showing through. Oh born in 44 :)

After nearly 10 months of delays[long story]finally took head off step daughters Meriva. The garage who did the previous head gasket "repair" had re-used the cylinder head bolts >:( >:( now got to take the head to see if it can be skimmed. Also while at step daughters fitted a new[to me]pair of headlamps and front indicators to my V70 she's been using since last November.

Replace rear brake shoes on sons Punto. A pita job.
Then bled the brakes, but the pedal still has way too much travel for my liking. Possibly flexi hoses or master cylinder.  :-\ ::)

Put some new plugs in the Westfield after limping back from the MOT on 3 cylinders. Luckily, it was Ok off load so emissions test was fine. :D

2 out of 4 plugs with cracks in the ceramic part. ::)
