Oooops
« on: 01 October 2006, 09:54:51 »

My lovely little gold Corsa had a minor mishap yesterday.

I am really gutted. It meant I had get a new heated rear window fitted in a hurry. Really nice bloke did the job in about 20 minutes flat and even hoovered up (well henry'd actually). Top bloke, nice insurance lady too.

If you leave your keys in the ignition and your car gets nicked, the insurance tell you to bugger off. I think the same should apply to people who leave objects protruding from the rear of their vehicle, and then slam the effing tailgate shut ;D ;D

PS. I have done this twice now :-[

The insurance company will ask to see BOTH copies of your car keys before they are convinced that you have not left the keys in the car. So the trick is to get a third key cut and put it on a cheap omega fob off eBay - once the car is gone no one can tell the fob is not the the right one, and you have two keys to show... Alternatively, don't leave the keys in the car in the first place...  ;D

Or for a small fee, I'll program the cheap keys off ebay up to your car, so you can have 3 sets ;)

I used to work for an electrical retailer and the amount of times I have seen this happen. People want to take the washer of large screen TV with them so you would take the item outside on a sack truck and drop it down at the side of the car. Two minutes later bang :o

I took the windscreen out on my old company Astra the same way, had a upvc 'plank' to get home from b&q, opened the boot, slid it in up onto the dash, fitted perfectly.
Shut the boot, and.....Crack, ooooooo, pretty windsceen patterns!

insurance report said stone damage, phew!
