cheers for the responses.
The headunit did work, i hav bought it second hand and it was in working order. my mig is a '96 2.0 CD so i dont think it has BOSE. i know it has its own amp tucked in behind the spare wheel but i thought that was for the 2 speakers in the small parcel shelf

Hey, has anyone ever had/installed a Ripspeed DV720?
Im having an issue with mine and im rather stumped on it...

Right the term "all singing and all dancing" doesnt quite fit as at the moment it only does the dancing. It works, the screen slides out etc etc but there is no sound coming from the door speakers. Now, i wired my sub in and that works (confused the hell out of me at first loads of bass, no music, i thought someone nearby had a huge instal :-[ ) but i have checked all the setings, un plugged and re plugged the ISO leads countless times, i even did a continuity check on the FL, FR, RL and RR on the ISO (headunit side) the make sure there was no breaks and all is well...

My current headunit (JVC KR-something) works in it, fine dandy and crystal clear.

Anyone got any ideas, suggestions or better yet, know what is wrong?

cheers in advance

as far as i remember the ignition was not on at all whilst wiring...

EDIT: my old man being the ex sparky that he is, has it apart at the mo... and its smells a lil burnt... not happy  :'(

checked all switches... they are as they were... not using bridged as i  hav 2 12" subs so 1 on each channel... as for when i removed the sub, the wires were removed from the sub side, not the amp side... that shouldn't stop output though, just sound different as speakers will work both ways (as far as im aware... i may well be wrong though)

Sorry if this is the wrong section but i thought i could get away with it as this lot is in my omega :P :P

Ok, not sure who remembers me having a small issue with this before (DND-Dave solved it straight away last time - bad earth) but i have a new issue with this lot now... as far as me and 3 others can see, nothing is out of place. no wires have been moved etc etc but i am getting no output from my subs apart from one of them buzzing.

The amp is all lit up and fine, the RCA's are in at both ends and so is the remote wire.
Earth not been touched, nor the live. The only thing that has happened recently was i un-wired 1 of the subs so i had a bit more room to sort out the boot lid i changed at the weekend.

Any ideas?  :-? :-?

2 12" subs no more than 500w each and my headunit is a JVC KD-PDR61
Ive earthed the amp to the car... put it to 1 of the bolts/screws holding the offside rear light. i even scratched the paint away to make it a better earth

Hey guys i got a DUB2502 amp as a bday present from my old folks (and a Vibe Slick 8awg wiring kit). i wired it all up yesterday all excited and could wait to fine tune my bass.... but.... the amp lights up, but in protection mode. i have searched the net and such to find answers, found one site saying to test this that and the other (fuses, connection etc) but none seem to help.

The one thing have found though is that when everything is plugged into the amp (as it should be) the protection light is in, when i unplug the RCA cables, the light goes out and the amp seems to power off... when i plug them back in, the red protection light comes back on...

any ideas? (im looking at DND Dave here :P)

ok so i tried this and it doesnt work... i turn the key so that the headunit comes on, then when i turn the key back to 0 the headunit goes off again... i wont even turn on when i press the on button on the unit

as for all the W and 12v switiching  :-? i have no clue what any of that really means
