Hello

Does anyone have schematics how the vacuum pipes/motors behind the dashboard are located and what valves they are controlling. I do not have any specific problems but when I one day took away the glowebox (when trying to find the day-light-relay with bad succes) I realized that the vacuum pipe controlling the "internal air circulation" was unplugged and stopped up with a screw. That is not a big problem, it just does not operate but there is another thing:

When I bought this car in Jan 2004 it was only 3 years old and it had a warranty from the seller. I pressed ten years ago this internal circulation button just to check what happens. What happened was that the air to windscreen was stopped and it did not come back even if I put the heating system to normal mode. I drowe the car to the seller and they repaired it under warranty. I was told that they changed one valve somewhere. I was not told which valve. Perhaps they also put this screw to that pipe. I do not know and I do not blame anybody. The heating/air cond. is working nicely except that in cold winter time sometimes I get some fog to windscreen even if the engine and car has been hot e.g. one hour. Perhaps there is something I could fix.

Hello

I do not know the English word of this relay but it switchs the lights on allways when engine is running even if the light switch is in zero position.

This relay does not work anymore. I already bought a new one but I cannot find where it is located in the car. I remember I heard the click of that relay somewhere in the passenger side perhaps behind the glowebox. I took away the glovebox as well as the side cover in the passenger foot area and found many interesting things and much cables but not this relay from anywhere. Where that could be found?

Omega General Help / TC-light and error code C0260
« on: 03 November 2013, 15:21:41 »
Hello all

When starting in the morning and reversing from garage the TC+another (spanner) light comes on. With reader I found in TC&ABS section the code C0260. When engine is stoppped and started again the spanner light is on a couple of seconds and the dissappears. After that everything is OK. Next morning it happens again.

I checked also the gearbox and engine codes and found P0705 and P1700. Perhaps they are just side effect of thr root case. Do anyone know the meaning of this C0260 code.

Hello all

Got this message to the dashboard twice today. What does it tell?

Remember I got same message some years ago just before the alternator broke. I measured today the alternator voltage with 3500 rpm in engine and full electric load on like lights fans rear screen heater etc. and the voltage climbed (up) to 13.8V. Then I put all the load off and the voltage with 3500 rpm climbed to 14.1 V. These values seem to me quite low, I remember the alternator is 100 or 120 A.

When I was last time under the car I realized that the cable between engine and chassis is in very bad condition. Have to change that soon. The starter motor runs very "strongly" so I do not believe that the cable is the problem now.

If you have any tips please let me know, perhaps battery, it is more than 4 years old.

Hello all

Just realized that engine oil is leaking quite much to the floor. It seems to come from the joint of the engine and gear bos (2.6, V6 and AR-25). So, perhaps the crank sealing in back end is broken. Is this a common problem with V6. If yes is it possible to change the crank sealing by just takin the gear box away. Is there any "cover" which I could remove to check whether the oil is coming from the crank end of the engine. I saw yesterday four torx bolts in this joint area screwed upwards but did not understand what they are holding.

Are there any other common sources for this leakage. Perhaps the oil is coming somewhere else, it was difficult to see anything in the upper part of the engine. 170 000 km is behind. Never changed any sealings in this engine e.g. the cam cover sealings are original.

Please help me to avoid wrong diagnostic.

Omega General Help / What does the HBV do and when
« on: 01 February 2012, 07:22:22 »
Hello

It is understood that cooling liquid can bypass the heater or go through the heater. I understood that the heater air temperature is controlled by mixing the heated air and fresh air. Is the water temperature in the heater controlled by this valve or is it just on-off ?

Hello

A couple of months I have noticed a slight petrol smell in cabin perhaps only in the beginning of the journey. Fuel consumption OK (or normal) engine runs perfectly like 2.6 V6 usually does.

I understood there is a tank ventilation carbon filter behind the front right side wheel which should sometimes changed. I have now 160 000 kilometers behind. Is it possible that the smell is coming from this carbon filter ?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Fuses
« on: 16 January 2010, 15:03:54 »
Hello all
Got some problems with my radio (CDR-2005). Problem is now over. During that I tried to check the radio fuse. According to owner's manual the radio fuce should be No. 6, the figure shows that the lowest row have 8 fuses. Pos 4 and 6 are emty in my fuse box. As said radio is OK now. No. 4 should be for cooler's fun. That works, too. Acc. to manual also fuse No. 12 is for radio and fuse No. 15 is for cooler's fan. Just for future needs do any of you have a real map of fuses.

Omega General Help / Ride height in rear side
« on: 27 June 2011, 17:26:12 »
My rear side seems to be in lower position than the front side if I have fuel tank full and e.g. 50 kg in the luggage boot. What is the correct height in rear side when unloaded ? It was discussed here some weeks ago but I cannot find it.

Omega General Help / Rear wheel bearing puller dimensioning
« on: 18 June 2011, 09:07:24 »
Hello all
I am going to change the rear wheel bearing in the near future without taking away the suspension arm. I understood that the suspension arm have a flanger and the bearing have to be pulled out. I will make the tool by myself by using M20 thread etc. Could anyone inform what is the minimum diameter of the hole in the suspension arm. The bearing outer diameter seems to be 74 mm and the thickness of the outer sleeve of the bearing is 2.5 mm. Thus the minimum hole/flange inner diameter in the suspension arm shoul be something between 69 mm and 74 mm but how much it is ? This info is neede when making the puller tool as I want to have everything ready before I start this job.

Hello
When I turn right I hear noise from left front weel. When I turn left there is almost not noise at all. When I lift the car up and rotate the front left weel I hear irregular rattle from the wheel. So, I quess that the bearing is broken after 160000 km. Is this typical, is it a big job to change.
