I doubt you'd see 100mpg from the CG, as TBH even you would be ragging the nads off it all the time.  But more than that, I think yo'd find it uncomfortable and hard going.

I get about 45-60mpg from my ThunderAce commuting - which is a 3 miles of filtering past stationary traffic usually

One of my friends does a similar commute on a YBR 125 (Yamaha equivalent of a CG) and get 90-100 mpg, it's temping to get a 125/250 just for commuting - but I think I'd rather save my pennies and put it towards getting an R1 instead  :D

To me the best benefit to commuting by bike is the trip I do would take 30-60 mins by car - on the bike its 10-15 mins regardless of what the rest of the traffic is doing.

You wont get much for under 1k...  can we assume you have a full bike licence and so engine size/power isn't an issue?

I wouldn't mind if all the post stopped.

All I get at my current house (moved into a year ago) is about 5 letters a day for the previous occupant pretty much ALL asking for money to send to Nigeria etc

All my utilities etc send me emails, and anything worth having comes by courier.

Goods job I've got a few UPS units around, and a generator  :)

I'm sure a lot of people have a genuine need for these -  and on the other hand I think a lot of people use them so they have more money for cigarettes and alcohol instead

So many of the programs lately show people saying they have no money and have 40" TV's - x-box's etc and say they have no money  >:(

Just go to Argos - get the cheapest one - use it until it breaks or you finish the job and then take it back for a full refund.

One of my friends did just that - used it to chop down 8-10 trees, I think he went through 4 of them

I think something like Acetone would do the job, although I wouldn't leave it on the floor for too long.

I'm not sure I'd have anything but an induction hob after having one for a while now - it heats up amazing quickly, touch buttons means it takes all of 3 seconds to clean, and is only hot with a pan on it.

Depending on the hob you can also lock rings so they cant be switched on by kids etc

I bought mine just over a year ago on ebay (new boxed stock from B&Q I think) for only £110  ;D

I'd go for the Samsung... always good to see if you can compare the two in person though.

Perhaps it just my view but I wouldn't build a PC anymore without an SSD as the primary drive - the benefits of boot speed for me anyway outweigh the (fairly small) cost of it.

If you have a home NAS I can't see why you would really need more than a 100gb SSD

Perhaps this would be a good solution for those finding it a bit too much...

Came within a whisker of buying the 1000 c.c version of this a few months back.

Only 145 BHP, but enough for my old bones. :y

The ThunderAce is the 1000cc version... the ThunderCat is the smaller 600

**145bhp is plenty for me..  I only weigh 60kg so get a pretty good bike+rider power to weight ratio  :)

Sorry to hear...  maybe you should try a newer bike, some of the new bikes are very easy to ride - switchable power output, lower centre of gravity, ABS, TC etc

Although I prefer my bikes a little older, I don't think I'd have the nerve to ride a £10-11k bike as hard as I do my old ThunderAce as I'd be too worried about how much it cost.

I've used it a few times - always seems pretty good, providing you have a good phone signal

I'd love to see some more details about this - I'm just starting my own project so anything extra to see/read is useful.

Thanks
