Well, I have seen the car up close and personal today. All I can say is Oh My God! It is absolutely wrecked. Mainly the front left corner, but it has taken the chasis leg back a good 6" and the windscreen and the A'post' and the roof has buckled. Absolutely not repiarable in a month of Sundays.
The
very nice recovery man dumped in on his driveway facing outwards, so Dave and I turned it around. Now, this is no small challenge when the NSF wheel has absolutely no clearance from the oil cooler and wing and the engine not quite working
. Anyway, after a few shunts we managed it. I know we are both going to regret that tomorrow - my back is already saying... 'Oh you think so do you?'
Dave took some interesting pics today and may or may not wish to share them with us later.
I can say that whilst putting on a brave front, he is a bit bashed up and has taken a fair whack judging by the bruises and cuts. Looks like he has done a couple of rounds with mike Tyson - in a bulldozer.
Having met with the car today I am genuinely amazed that he walked away with the minor injuries that he did. This was by far the nastiest one we have had in the forum so far and I wish Dave a speedy recovery and all the help I can give, whenever he needs it.
I am sure I speak for everyone here when I wish him sincere wishes to get better as quickly as possible.
