Remote suddenly not working
« on: 04 March 2007, 21:44:12 »

Ok, yet anothe problem albeit a minor one.

It would seem the remote has decided to stop locking and unlocking the doors, it was working fine earlier today but has suddenly stopped.

The lights still flash on the remote when the buttons are pressed but the car does nothing, i can still open the car with the key though.

Ideas anyone???

The obvious answer would be that it needs a new battery.  It has enough power to light the red led but not enough to reach the sensor.  Slip a new one in - about £2.50 iirc from Halfords etc

It could also be as both my Astra shed's keys were, the battery holders were loose in both keys but would generally make a connection to light the led when you pressed the buttons. The batteries had been disconnected for long enough for the fob bit to forget what it was. 10 mins with a diddy soldering iron had 'em both sorted though.  :)
