2000 Omega CDX Audio
« on: 05 April 2010, 11:20:39 »

I have a 2000 2.0 Auto CDX fitted with a after market Philips MP3 CD Player. But the steering wheel remote controls don't work or the in dash display? Can anyone advise on a MP3 CD Unit that supports these features?
Also Computer isn't working, or clock etc... so these issues maybe related.
Advice appreciated.

no headunit will directly support controls your MID without adaptors. I have an Alpine 9854R in mine, which has steering wheel controls but you have to buy an adaptor to make it work. You can get display adaptors, but for the huge cost involved i never bothered

Not all headunits even support the capability of adapters to allow you to use car specific features.

Not sure why your computer functions don't work though? You getting anything on the screen?

Hi, no display at all, not even clock, temp etc... suspect maybe faulty display unit or is it fused?
Having some problems with the fitted Philips CD, speakers cutting out, so may be dodgy wiring?
Is it worth getting a secondhand Philips compatible Head Unit and getting an after market CD Changer, that way all should work? :-/

Does the display work when the stereo is disconnected?
