Title: V6 code 93
Post by: I_want_an_Omega on 17 July 2011, 13:16:38
Had a funny one earlier this morning, started car from warm after a good run and standing for 30 mins. Got a flickering of the engine management light on tickover. It was a fast flicker - just revved the engine a tad and the light went out - never to come on again.

Its come up with a stored code 93 - which isn't listed.  :question

I did have a flat battery a few days ago so the code could have been stored from there I guess?

Any ideas?

Sometimes the EML light will flicker if the battery is running low and the car is struggling for power...probably nothing to worry about :y

Have you recharged the battery fully?

Its been for a couple of decent runs after being made flat. I'll measue the voltage later but suspect the battery may be at the end of its life.

The battery was in our '54 Focus diesel fom new and wasn't able to handle the load imposed by new glo-plugs last winter.

So, I swapped batteries in the winter. All has been ok until last week.

Time for a new one methinks.

Any idea of the TC price for one for a 3.0?

More diagnosis required before replacing the battery, IMHO. ;)
