Title: cold bum
Post by: Jay w on 03 November 2007, 22:46:37
for the last couple of days the drivers heated seat hasn't worked.

The light comes on, the fuse is ok and the wiring looks to be in order (it hasn't been touched)

any ideas?

I guess that the first thing would be to check the continuity in the heater element? At least that would tell you what it isn't.

Was it overly warm before it packed up?

The stat is quite common to go, causing the element to burn out.

The seat cover needs to be removed to get to it though, and if it's leather you need to replace the entire cover as the element is sewn in.

Approx £300 retail for a replacement leather cover from Vx, which includes new heater, stat and cables etc.

I've already done mine, not a difficult job.  ;)
