Stainless castors!! bit posh - sure they're not plated  bet they're not C276 stainless ( approx 3% iron, rest expensive stuff- but good for 28% HCl in hot water at 90 Deg C!)

Can i weld stainless to mild steel?

I've welded carbon steel to aluminium! - wasn't structural though!,  carbon to stainless - many times - welding rod depends on the stainless grade etc. ( as specified in the weld procedure )

What happened to the 12 days of christmas.  Anyway Christmas is for the kids , us 'adults' don't need an excuse to overindulge - as long as there is a Y in the day. :)

HAd similar thing last summer - was in van on A10 going towards Kings Lynn, drivers door window broke ( approx 5" dia fell in first, followed by rest of it. Can only assume was an air rifle as there was nothing to my right . luckily window was shut - if had been going  a little faster would have been inline with my ear.  twas a bit draughty driving for a further 180miles before it got fixed.

have got an engine crane in Luton , available for lending , as am trying to keep indoors until it warms up- then I might use it for its intended use (3 years ago!
), but not got around to it.

£20 a week fuel cost, as only use it at weekends as missus isn't keen on going in the company van (which is quite comfortable for me- even though is challenged on horse power when loaded with 600kgs of rubbish/work stuff)

I've put dimmable B22 ( normal ) bulbs in living room ( candle type) using original dimmer - works ok , but when on low light is white not orange oon the old incandesent type- cost £4.50 each ( off amazon) , Wilkos are £7.50 at moment so now missus is allowed to have lights on in living room when it gets dark. I thought would have to change dimmer switch @ approx £18 per dimmer , which increases the pay-back time
