When I joined the forum I did so on the computer at home and while I had a mobile phone it was a basic thing that couldn't access the internet. Now that I have such a phone[Galaxy S9] is there any way I can pair it to the forum or would I have to start out as a newbie as far as the phone is concerned?

Always loved his programmes, very informative with a sense of humour and he didn't talk down to his "audience" as some presenters tend to do.Also have a copy of his biography on my bookshelves simply titled FRED.

Only ever had the 12v Senators a chrome bumper one a couple of the later plastic bumper ones[one of which was a 2.5 manual] and then a couple of Senator B's,but I'd take one of those over an Omega any day of the week.

Drove the V70 to Wallsall on Saturday[110 miles each way]chucked a Mondeo V6 engine and gearbox in the back and came home again 36.4 mpg average for the journey not too bad for a 22yr old 2.4 petrol engined motor I don't think.

General Car Chat / Turbo
« on: 14 June 2022, 09:15:10 »
This is on a Volvo 2.4 petrol engine with a low pressure turbo fitted [not my car] there is oil on the walls of at least some of the pipework to/from the turbo, this I'm told is the turbo seals having gone/on their way out.Looking on-line it seems there are no seals as such but some kind of "thrower" rings to stop the oil getting out until it can drain back to the engine? and that excess pressure from a blocked breather system or a blocked air filter or a kink/blockage in the oil drain pipe would be the likely cause? If the turbo needs repair/replacement is a second hand turbo worth the risk? Do you just replace the turbo core[and if you do what do the different T numbers-as in 16T etc-mean?] or replace the entire turbo with a brand new one?

There are indeed lady competitors in the TT both in the solo classes and the sidecar class. Years ago[into the early/mid '70's I believe]the TT was part of the World Championship[what is now MotoGP]and with so few rounds in the championship at the time a rider had to go to the TT if he wanted to be world champion. The great Agostini was in part responsible for having the TT removed from the championship calendar on safety grounds.I'm sure the organisers do all they can safety wise and learn lessons from each tragedy but there is only so much that can be done when the racing goes through towns/villages and every rider knows the risks.Attempts have been made in the past to have it cancelled/banned but still the riders/teams turn up to take part.
Michael Dunlop certainly lives up to his nickname of Raging Bull especially when you watch his riding style compared to such as Peter Hickman and how close to the limit he's prepared to push himself and his machine.

Sorry to hear this Stemo, they are great companions and part of the family. My present dog[a not very wrinkly Sha Pei] I bought as a pup and she's now 12 has recently[despite treatment]gone blind in her left eye and is getting less inclined to walk any kind of distance. What I will do when she goes[assuming she goes first of course]I dread to think as when my last dog died I sat and cried for ages. This one will certainly be the last as the odds of me seeing yet another one out are slim indeed.
