I just use the urethane when fitting the window. Goes hard and doesn't let go of them  :y

Saving the plastics ain't hard. Getting them to stay on the screen is tricky.

I usually use a smear of the adhesive behind trim before refitting. Never had one fall off yet  :y

Best wiring diagram is the ones in the Haynes manual  :y

If you bypass it all you will do is fry another circuit, set fire to the car or overload whatever you bypass it off.

Best thing to do is find out why the wires melted in the first place.  :y

The Honda fr-v has three front seats

Must read other posts first

7
When I fit them I bond the trim to the glass so they don't come off. Most fitters dont

8
Purely a cosmetic item. Side bits try to stop the water spraying round the door glasses but never works.

Ideally the screen should be removed for fitting of new trims don't let them tell you otherwise!!! What we call a back fill and bodge job :y

I got a new feed and return line from Vauxhall. The return lines are fine but it was found that the feed pipes have been bent backwards and don't fit the car at all. Don't know if they ever fixed it or not luckily I found a second hand one.

Yea. Some pay more some pay less. Was just an example of prices not actual prices. Don't want to get myself into trouble with the company now  :-X

13
Yea held in with pu. Not the trim to the plastic backing though. That's meant to clip in  :y

The problem you have is most insurance companies refuse to pay for trims. Insurance companies have deals with windscreen companies. Like they will pay a set price per job but refuse to pay for trim, clips etc

If they have to use trims its not insurance companies who pay for them. And as we all know a trim kit for an omega ain't cheap.

If say insurance pay £100 plus the excess. But you have the screen and the bonding kit that's most of that cash away. If the windscreen company has to pay for trim kit. Its not worth doing the job. Hence why they bring out the wrong screen etc. Job doesn't get done and its off or sometimes customer kicks up with insurance company then send Jo to another company then the cycle starts again

Its not windscreen companies at fault its the insurance dictating prices

I had a 3.0 with a left bank head gasket failure. Good reason to rebuild though. So HG failure can happen

But I would listen to the more experienced members first before anyone else. If members want to fight and bitch. Go elsewhere. This forum has great members and loads of info
