Corsa for Mrs Opti.
« on: 12 November 2011, 20:02:00 »

It seems that my benevolence and generosity know no bounds. I have just purchased a cracking little Corsa for Mrs Opti.
Quite frankly my MV6 really was too large for her to handle (especially park) so a well looked after supermini procured at a good price seemed to be the way to go.

I've known this particular Corsa from new. It is as follows.

An immaculate 1.2 SXI presented in ultra blue. Registered in October 2003 and wearing a"53" plate.
MOT and tax .....August 2012. It has only covered 18,000 genuine miles from new and has recently had the front tyres and battery replaced for the first time.

It feels like a new car to drive and goes pretty well considering it only has a mere 75 BHP. The only extra money I've had to find is £24 for a new car pass from Vauxhall. When the battery was changed, the code was lost and (you guessed it).....no copy :-\ :-\ :-\

I paid £1200 for it , which seems fair enough.... :y :y :y

I'll give it a polish and post some piccies..... :y :y :y

Looking under the bonnet, I like how easy the oil filter and thermostat are to access. Maintenance looks like a piece of piss, even for someone of my limited ability.... :y

I'm greatly impressed by your generosity Opti.  :-* :-*

That's all I'll hazard at the moment as I'm using a fancy 'mobile device' to send this.

Not sure if the 1.2 has a chain or belt but the chain is the biggest killer of Corsas, usually they give plenty of warning though!

Thats a cracking price! I sold an 03 1.0 club with 65k for £1800 a few months ago

I've driven Corsa's a couple of times (not latest model), where I have very wide feet and wear working boots, I couldn't operate the clutch without catching the brake peal, so not a car for me I'm afraid.  ::)
