lpg tanks

What's the largest width toroidal tank you can fit in the spare wheel well of a estate ?
Mine currently has a 600 x 230 which gives about 43 litres usable.  £295 plus P&P
Hight isn't a problem due to the floor been raised anyway.

These could be alternatives

A 600 x 270 which gives about 52 litres usable.  £300 plus P&P
A 650 x 270 which gives about 61 litres usable.  £323 plus P&P

I'm sure that was the size I had in mind for mine... :-\

May have been 670...

Surgery limited* to the lip on the rear panel and possibly lifting the boot carpet an inch if it bothers you... ;)

*plus whatever is involved securing the tank.

Would be about as close as you can get to a full size spare (225/55/16), with a similar effect on the boot floor ;)

Never seen a 670 if i'm honest.
Already sussed out the attacking the rear lip with an angle grinder to give us a extra 25mm to play with.

The 650 x 270 should give me about another usable 18 litres which is better then a kick in the cock  ;D
The floor is already built up by approx 30mm.

Mmm decisions decisions ........

That's half the job done then :D

Cutting the lip is as much about the valve box lid as anything else iirc ;)

Ordered

Still fancy a Allroad in the next couple of years.
Went to see a couple of duds and missed out on a couple of 3ltr manuals due to been slow off the line / not been able to get time to look at them  :'(

The omega is a known quantity and has cost me very little to keep on the road over the last few years other then fuel.
Suspension is sorted.
Engine / gearbox is sweet as a nut.
Chassis is solid enough with no welding on the horizon yet.
Bodywork / Paint is a little scabby in all the usual places but looking to sort that over the winter.

I suppose I wanted to get rid of the omega while its still worth something but with Covid 19 still screwing the world up and people about to loose there jobs, there isn't going to be much money around for a while to keep a old bus like this in the way it should be and I didn't want to break it  :'(

Hanging onto it will give us a chance to save up a few more sheckles for its replacement.  :y

Fingers crossed for the next year or two  :y

Used to be a total dick with money and was a part cause in loosing me first business and nearly the missus 10 plus years ago.
Ended up with my head so far up my arse I couldn't see light for day. A proper wreck  :'(
Since then, I know within a fiver what's in my account and only use a credit card (which gets cleared every month) to boost my credit limit.

In other words ...............its  CASH CASH and only CASH nowadays  ;D :y
