Rough idle and on low rpm
« on: 07 October 2020, 18:43:15 »

Hey, I have an Omega 2.2 Petrol year 2001, engine is y22se/xe if I’m not mistaken?

The problem is that is runs rough on idle and low rpm. It runs like it should on higher rpms, still does burnouts and donuts so I don’t believe there is any major power loss. I bought it with a bad headgasket and replaced it, ran like a dream for a week and lent it to my friend, he called two hours later saying the car was running poorly, so I don’t know how it happened or what caused it.

I’ve checked compression, spark, there’s fuel in the fuel rail, haven’t checked the injectors.
Found a tiny hole in the exhaust between the two O2 sensors, could a tiny hole really cause this much trouble? I’ve heard that these cars are known for having bad ICVs but I can’t seem to find One on this engine?

I'm opting for air leak. Either air intake (after MAF) or vacuum pipes.

I would also recommend cleaning out the throttle body.
