General Discussion Area / Ipod experts!! I'm after some help
« on: 28 June 2010, 20:08:36 »
Hi,

I have a Clarion CX609E unit in my Omega, it is labelled as Ipod connection ready and comes with a USB connector, unit works the Ipod when one is connected. I have bought an Ipod Classic 120Gb, latest version. It is loaded with CD and Itunes songs. Tried to connect it to the stereo this morning and I got an Error reading. The manual says that the Error reading indicates that the songs aren't MP3 or WMA files, but they are. It has various videos loaded as well. So what am I missing? Do I need to scrub the Ipod songs and download a convertor for all my songs to enable them to work, then re-load them?

Any help/thought/advice appreciated!

Cheers,
Iain

Hi all,

Just back from Daz's after getting a load of work done, top notch as usual :y, plenty of chat, coffee and pot-noodles as well. Think he could have done with something stronger when the 6th spark plug nearly snapped off though :D

General Discussion Area / Insurance
« on: 08 April 2010, 12:00:41 »
Hi,

I'm trying to get insurance cover for a 3.2 manual but no-one seems to recognise this model? All say its an auto and MV6/Elite trim. So who do people use?

P.S. Phoned DVLA as well, they have the car listed as a special so why don't the insurance companies >:(

General Discussion Area / Insurance quotes
« on: 01 February 2010, 21:05:46 »
Looking for insurance quotes tonight for 3.2 Omega, rough price of around £660 Fully comp, my 2.6 was £800 :o. Also looking at new quote for my Discovery, 2.5 Tdi with some slight mods, nothing performance related, £600 Fully comp. How do they work it out?? Bit annoyed that I will have to pay the same for two completely different cars with huge difference in power :(

General Discussion Area / Sods law
« on: 26 January 2009, 18:25:56 »
Hi,

Noticed before christmas that my brake discs were looking quite worn, got some new ones. Thermostat decided to go not long after, got a new one, noticed rear shock on drivers side was leaking, got 2 new ones. Finally got round to fitting front discs last month, no problem, everything else at teh front was sound. Fitted the rear discs/shocks on Sat, took me 4 hours but fixed sticky handbrake and cleaned everything up.

On Sunday tried to change thermostat, couldn't get to it, every way I tried I got hampered by bolts/fan/pipes etc that wouldn't budge, and I got soaked. Phoned my mate who has a garage 'Need you to do my thermostat and a gearbox oil change' No problem. Dropped it off sun night, phoned him today, all done, superb. Phoned me 10 mins later, your front drivers shock has broke and the fronts bobbing about. God dammit! Was fine on Sat, typical. New springs ordered for tomorrow and no car till wednesday.

Seem to be replacing every part of this car, next on the list is the fuel pump plate, the pipes are rusted pretty much through :-/

And I bought this one cause my old 98 CD V6 was getting by its best ::)

Don't you just love em!!

Except a main dealer 8-)

Tried every online shop I can think of, done searches on every search engine with no luck :-/ If I have to get one from the dealers then so be it, but would have thought there was a place online selling them?
