As I was stuck for bits yesterday decided to fit the cam belt correctly just to turn it over, bloody fiddle on the V6 even with nothing in the way!! Anyway painted the pulleys and cleaned up front of engine a bit, its not run for 18 years. Need to make an idler for aux belt due to power steering pump delete so will use a pulley from tensioner , bracketed from bolt holes for pump. Need to fit Vectra sump properly then put some new oil and filter on and with a bit of lube down bores see if it spins over , have to see if it has any bent valves due to top idler bearing collapsing and belt jumping a tooth. It did rattle !!

I assume your taking the irmscher bits, CID,etc. off before it goes ?
Nope.  No room to strip currently, as with us being always at home, and the neighbours, with whom I share a driveway, always being at home, thats 6 cars on the drive, which doesn't allow for one to be parked up in such a way I can easily get around it.

So...give the body kit away on here, provided they take the car it's attached to.

Or at least list on the bay of fleas and surprise yourself how much it goes for. £100 non returnable deposit if it isnt collected within 7 days etc. to get rid of time wasters.  ;)

Or just drop it over to me and I will give you your bus fare back.  :y ;D

We all know that Ebay is allergic to TB; can you imagine how bad it will be if he sells stuff :o

Selling cheap cars with known problems(it's an old Omega, of course it's got problems) to the majority of people who buy such things is less worthwhile than poking out your own eyes with a rusty screwdriver.

How many such cars really make £500 without any hassle?

Have you considered that TB has had his money's worth from the car, and has better things to do with the time and effort required to sell the thing?

It needs saving? Whatever for? It's just an old car ready for the next stage in its life: to become bean tins.

I reckon it would go for at least a grand any day of the week. Iirc correctly, irmscher bodykit, wheels and suspension.
Its worth a lot of money in parts to the right person.

If I hadnt got myself in the position of trying to think of excuses for swmbo, on a daily basis, of why I have / need three cars, I would be interested myself.  ::) ;D

Although I bought it as a 40th birthday treat for myself, Mrs TB took a shine to it after she self destructed the aircon on the silver bullet one summer, so has been her daily for virtually all that time.

So "1 lady owner" is only half a lie (I think we were the 2nd owner) :P.  Although I might have to own up to occasionally giving it an Italian tune-up.

Rear arches are toast, and I reckon the sills wont be pretty (though I have replacement sills).  The brakes need replacing as have not withstood lockdown too well, causing the discs to corrode badly, and I reckon it needs a new steering idler, even though the play in it is minimal. Front bumper could use a respray, though remember it has melted previously ;D. Oh, and that weird paint bubbling that suddenly became apparent a couple of months ago.

Other than that, its oil tight, water tight, everything works, and it goes like a 3.2 auto should.  In fact, the engine is pretty good for a 3.2, hiding its 155k, having been over serviced every 3-4k.  It's also been ultra reliable, with the only "breakdowns" being a blow out on the M40 a couple of years back, and a pothole incident 6 or 7 years ago causing enough wheel damage to let all the air out.

Mrs TB definitely does not want to get rid of it, and I cant find anything suitable to replace it.  If it wasn't for the lack of LPG anywhere, we would be keeping it.
