IMO losing the modify option would be a mistake too. I quite often only notice an error in my posts after I have actually posted them. Not giving people the option to correct themselves will lead to inaccurate information being posted more often, and lots of extra unnecessary posts from people correcting them. I think that will just get annoying for the OP.

Also, have was lost the section that shows where members are located? That was very useful.  :-\

I just posted with a typo in it i had to quote myself - as it were - to correct it, I love SMF forums but it really does need the ability to edit/modify posts maybe put a time limit to edit posts, say, 10 minutes or something. Deleting imo should be left to admins and mods because a member deleting a post in the middle of the thread could cause problems for the flow of the discussion.

Just my tuppence worth  :)

Totally agree, with the exception of the Cars and Parts For Sale areas, where I think the OP should also be able to delete a thread once the car/part is sold.  :y

Is there a way of getting notifications onto your headerboard without having to click on your profile?

Also, notifications don't seem to take you to the page where you last read, only to the beginning of the thread, which is a pain

Well, having had an evening of using the new setup, I must confess that I preferred the old setup and layout in just about every way I can think off - when it worked properly that is.I do realise that it wasnt feasible to carry on with the old system though, so theres no choice but to get used to this one.
I hope that doesnt sound ungrateful, its not meant to.I know TB has put a lot of work into getting the new system up and running, and for good reasons - for which I have utmost respect and gratitude. :y

You're probably all aware that the email isn't working.

Its not an SMF problem, its a server problem.

I'm on it.

I preferred the 'look' of the old one, and it had one or 2 unique features that we used to use, which can only be half-arsed implemented on other software.

The fact is, however, YaBB is a dead duck, and we were beyond the limits of its capabilities for about the last year, given the resources we can afford to throw at it.  We had one of the largest YaBB sites out there, we understood it well, and how to make it perform (unlike YaBB themselves - see their own forum ::) on any evening, and how 'well' it runs with a handful of users online). It will take us a while to get up to speed with SMF with regard to understanding it.  Apart from a couple of handwritten modifications for highlight function, its currently pretty bog standard.

Correct.

This is currently by design, until we (Admins) are more familiar with the way the site works now.
