According to 'Crouchie' Iceland had a few part-timers in the team.

Perhaps they worked for £6 an hour at a freezer centre of the same name.

I was about to say we woz robbed and then realised that is them, STEMO and his boat. ::) :o ;D

I gave up watching after the Wales game as the only UK team showing passion and pride in that match was Wales. :(

Best quote I saw on this match was that England paid with the all passion and drive of a Post Office queue. :D

Well done to Iceland they had a plan and executed it superbly. 8)

Establishment dole queue is growing fast; first Camoron, now Hodges and Colbyn will be joining them shortly. ;D ;D ;D

The Icelaninc football league system has around 73 or so teams.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icelandic_football_league_system

The English league system has between 5,00 and 7,000 depending on how you count them
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_football_league_system

Could it just be that the Icelandic players get to know each other better, get to train together more, and of course are more motivated ? Plus the clubs within Iceland have more "home grown" players.

I believe that all or most of their players play their football in the rest of Europe :-\. That said, well done to them, they just wanted it more :y

I imagine Joe Hart manages to save quite a lot......from the £200,000 a week in earns from standing between two sticks.

I don't follow footballism at all,but one of the main excuses I hear trotted out every time they fail is that they don't get enough time training/playing together as a team. This may be so but if it is how come other national teams get this extra training/playing time when our lot don't?
