Hi guys...
Quick question...
Was doing some work on my car today (cleaning air intake / breathers etc) and stumbled across this behind my engine!!
Obviously meant to attach somewhere but the guys who worked on the car right before I got it (mechanics next to dealer) left it loose. This was a year ago now! No wonder I've sometimes had a random metallic rattling sound coming through the dash!
(sorry for the picture quality, it was with my phone, which is now several years old!)

Any clues to where this goes? (or what is is?) - I can see one part is attached to the breather system etc, if I remember rightly. I did this while it was daylight as you can see, and I'm not posting quickly before bed!
Hopefully I can put it back in the right place tomorrow!
Thanks in advance.

I may be wrong, (wouldn't be the first time), but is that the clamp / bracket that bolts onto the drivers side rear of the plenum, securing a couple of the coolant pipes?

Purge valve, isn't it?

It is indeed the canister purge valve and it should be mounted around the back of the driver's side cylinder head, as said.

thanks guys.
I asume therefore that it needs some torx bolts, as tends to be the theme...
I don't have any, and if it's going into the block or plenum, I can't use a generic nut or bolt...
Now the clever question is:
Any ideas where I can borrow one from elsewhere in the engine bay that fits!? (eg, what can suffice with 1 bolt missing etc) Most seem to be one of 2 different thicknesses / thread sizes, all with varying lengths.
Fuel line to plenum bracket?
Or shall I just leave it loose?
I guess breakers yard for some spare bolts when I've got the car back together...
