Post by: grade7 on 07 May 2015, 12:17:36
Hi

If i use nero burner and make an audio cd, some files play and some dont. Maybe im using wrong settings or should i convert files somehow first?

If you have a Pre/mid facelift, then fit a suitable mkdern head unit that is designed to play any format ::)

Ok, let's start from the top...

What Exactly is fitted to your car?

Factory unit will not read anything other than prerecorded cds without causing permanent laser damage.

Any modern unit which will play absolutely anything will never work with Bose.

Your options are simple :

1. Don't use recordable discs.
2. Remove all the Bose wiring and fit an aftermarket head unit.
3. Fit an aftermarket head unit to the glove box and feed the audio output to the CDC audio feed before it hits the Bose wiring.

Personally I am running with option 3, but depends on what you want from the set up :y

Got to say, the CDC2 in my old Vectra (CCR600+CDC2) played copied CD's without much issue and lasted five years until I traded the car in, it's the later CDC3 units which fail regularly.

WHS ^^^

And as has previously been said, you just can`t help some people.

The guides have been clearly written about this from a professional perspective, not internet hearsay

Have a good read of them, and digest them carefully - if you do not agree with them, then thats fine, but when its starts costing you some serious money to put right your mistakes, don`t say that you were not warned and we didn`t tell you so.

And just to be clear - the guide will cover ALL VERSIONS of Omega, not just FL (not actually sure where you got that bit from?)

The CDC2 is definitely more robust against laser failure than the CDC3 variants. But even so, its not CDR compatible.

That's not to say it won't work, but you are straining the laser focusing coils, and you will shag it eventually.  But in me experience, you will get the best results using a decent CD Writer in a desktop machine (laptop writers are no good), decent media (ie, Verbatim) and burning at the slowest speed that both the writer and media can handle. I'd try not to go above 4x, but most modern writers and most modern media cannot go this slow.

But, remember, you will shag your CDC.
