I really would hope not in 2019, even if they ever/we did.
I have not got a sense of humour Opti with this subject, and anything to do with stereotyping. That is probably as I am a Southerner brought up by parents, one from Royal Tunbridge Wells and the other an Eastender, who understood what had been achieved by the people in the North and had nothing but respect for them. I still have and can never find this type of humour anything but cringe making and stupid :o :o

But if you want actually offensive, my aunt in East Grinstead got a letter from the Scientologists offering to by her house for 25% over market value plus $10,000 moving costs with the guarantee that they would never sell or let it to Muslims because they don't want East Grinstead to become a Muslim enclave like Woking :-X

The intolerant are always with us and I think that is why I find stereotyping rather offensive as I think there could always be an underlying agenda.
Coincidentally I heard Floella Benjamin, Baroness Benjamin, OBE, DL this morning on the BBC talking about the Windrush generation, today the 22nd of June, not only being my birthday, but the day in 1948 when the HMT Empire Windrush landed the first immigrants at Tilbury from the Caribbean.
She went explained why she is called the Beckenham Dame and the incident in 1960 when her parents were looking at a house to buy in Beckenham, Kent. Apparently neighbours phoned 999 and told the police that a load of black people were in the house and robbing it of all it's fixtures and fittings. That day is the day they decided to buy the house and live there! :D :D :y
In the early twentieth century it was the Northerners being prejudiced against by the Southern 'respectable society', then it was the blacks and now it is the Islamic people undergoing what is actually fear of something others do not understand, in other words ignorance. ;)

I think we as people are tolerant.......up to a point. However, human nature means we all have our likes/dislikes and preferences.
However tolerant to others 'we believe ourselves to be' we all make a judgement on other people.
Make a list of ten 'types' of people you may live next door to. I guarantee nobody will be happy to live next door to all 'types' equally.

Wife has a telephone voice, which is slightly Home Counties.
I have never had any difficulty in understanding the Liverpudlian accent and just love it. So very different from my Eastend mum's GPO trained voice from the 1940's ;D ;D ;D ;)
It is strong Geordie dialect that still I cannot understand, which a good Geordie works friend of mine often demonstrated to me when I boldly stated I could understand his accent! He actually was a Northern snob, and although he was born and bred in Newcastle, he detested his own accent and tried to become more 'Southern' in sound. :o :o :o :P
How sad and what a mistake. We should all be proud of where we are from and never try and change who we are! :)

I don't even like the Belfast accent. I thick Belfast accent is almost as bad as scouse. ;D

Five minutes online, Lizzie. There's a short form to fill in, upload a picture (just do it yourself on your iPad) and it's through the letterbox in a week. I got mine a year ago and have only used it once. But, when you consider that you can travel the length and breadth of the country with it, it might be handy in the future.

Wakefield city centre is abysmal nowadays. Barnsley is much better, and that says a lot when you consider the demographic. But Wakey does have Newmillerdam, my favourite place for walking the dog.

The answer is simple.......BL were too tight to design and manufacture larger doors, so used the same doors as found on the 4 door Marina saloon. :-\
Still, this minor point didn't stop the young Sir Tigger from getting his end away. ;)

I took the dogs a wander round newmillerdam late last year, first time in 10 years I went back,
lots of single mums walking kids and dogs, struck up a conversation with a couple, started by them, must be a pickup place??
For dogs?

I always wondered why the doors (2) on the Marina coupe looked so small and out of proportion.
The answer is simple.......BL were too tight to design and manufacture larger doors, so used the same doors as found on the 4 door Marina saloon. :-\
Still, this minor point didn't stop the young Sir Tigger from getting his end away. ;)
Poor access to rear seat = Harder for them to escape. :y
I imagine he was also familiar with Rohypnol in order to subdue the more active 'Darzett farm girls'. :)

Talking about cider, Cider with Rosie is a lovely read of old, before even the Marina came about, and even before Marina featured in Stingray, so back in the day of Opti's childhood! :o :o :D :D ;)

That was one of the set books in my GCE English Literature course at school along with The Taming of the Shrew by Shakespeare & Arms and The Man by Shaw. :y
Of the 3 books that was the most enjoyable..

Indeed, and of course Cider With Rosie was the read back in the day, even outside of the GCE or any other course work. Lady Chatterley's Lover was also the read if we could get hold of a copy, but I bet Opti had one!! ;D ;D ;)
